Last of Us [PS4]

Oh boy...that was hefty! Game keeps delivering every second...wow!

15:20h in...89% complete...definitively not a game for kids.

I am now at the place of the demo, and couldn't get through that section without getting frustrated. Wouldn't mind some tips ... I made some progress on the order at which to do it, but it was too frsutrating and too big a spike for me. May have to switch to easy.

I am assuming the part you're talking about is the cliker part. Find a brick first, then throw it at the clicker to stun. While it's stunned, you can get a one-hit kill with a melee weapon. I found it was a lot easier to take out the cliker first and deal with the runners later.

If ND have got their PS3 engine up and running on the PS4 then I am assuming that we could get a LOU remake. Imagine all the pre-baked running in real time and with all the cut backs reinstated. That would be lush!!

Yeh, this section is damn annoying and what referred to in my reply, it gets alot better with open terrain to outrun the freaks and a better arsenal later (I still ran into another horrible spike but it probably wont be as intense if you lower difficulty).
for the clicker, you can stand still/crouch away from him slowly and he will lose track, you can whack him if you got a piece of wood or a brick equipped, you can stun him with throwing a brick/bottle and then grab and shiv him (or crouch up to him -slowly- if he aint alerted). shooting him takes alot of good hits so thats the worst option,

the trick is just to get rid of the runners first by taking them down silently - this is a matter of trial and error till you got the sequence right or you use the "listen mode" to help a bit..

I have found a simple soultion for all fights, kill one guy , sprint to the other side of the room/level, crouch, you will be back in stealth. Kill another guy, sprint n hide. Very fun and extremely effective in all situations.

Even the tutorial tells u to do so. Thats the way to lpay. I haven't got stuck anywhere till now, thankfully, and I am playing on hard and with Listen mode disabled. I strongly advise all of u to disable listen mode, the game becomes much more engaging , unpredictable(the best part of the game, you never know when u get overwhelmed) and non-game like.

I went th eother way. Meleed all runners and then ran away and hid in that elevated area. Then got a stealth kill on the clicker. By the way , the game becomes easy if u stop relying on guns. Hide and brawl FTW. I am very bad at stealth in all games, so for me its brawl , run, hide. Brawl again, run again, hide again. Good game feels good :p !

Damn, this game is so addicting, came to play for 30 mins and its two hours already  , late for work !

The downtowns are actually the best parts of the game, i never knew it would be so enjoyable.

Edit: i mean downtimes not downtowns !

Stealth kill (grab/strangle) the stationery dude near where you drop down and the one who roams the corridor and the back room. These are far enough from other mobs to be done safely. You then want to lure the clicker away to where the first stationery dude was, then head down the back corridor and take down the remaining dudes (can't remember if one or two). Then whack the clicker any way you like - stealth/stiv, bullets.

Remember you can brick/stun and melee clickers, you don't always need to use a shiv.

A rather effective approach in all encounters, if you have a bottle/brick and a melee weapon: throw brick/bottle at target, when hit, sprint full speed towards the target and press square...its like a combo and should one-hit kill most of the time.

Edit: yeah, as DSoup posted

Now I know what the gamespot reviewer said about characters being too loud and breaking the immersion. Is the fatso ! His normal footsteps are as loud as Joel's sprint ! His feet pound the ground while I am sneaking through clickers  !

Henry
looks amazing. More stunning than Ellie.

Game is long, heavy and intense. I'm trying to cover as much ground as possible.

Save games are wierd. Even if u save a t a specific place, it doesn't , it just loads the checkpoint, i guess, cos my medkits/health come out different when I load.

I am not sure, but up to now, this did not occur to me?!? Maybe I 'overhear' it? What is your sound setup?

I play with a 5.1 headset....and the sound is absolutely amazing...I already demonstrated it to my friends and all were astounded. One of my PC gaming friends was said, as he thought that his 7.1 headset was inferior to my 5.1 headset...but I explained that this maybe not my headset but the sound design of TLoU...one if the best aspects in the game. I can't play it with stereo sound anymore...sounds completely off.

That sounds like it may be a good option. Best I managed was take out two runners, but I keep messing up one of the runners, and then the clicker comes in for the kill. Thanks for all the tips everyone!

Did you encounter the type 4 guy yet?
I doubt your tactic works in this section -
I lost all my ammo and utilities there and then I still had fights ahead
