Does camera based motion blur works also that way?
Camera based blur blurs everything depending on camera movement. Object blur blurs moving objects. Natch. ;) Tuna's complaint makes no sense here because the foliage is pin-sharp. It's lacking detail due to lack of power in PS3 to render better in this game.
 
You can download and install the client from sony store immediately, Email says that download apparently starts June 14th, 12AM...it seems no preload.

Downloaded that. The email just says the release date is 14th , 12 am, but nothing about preload. MY last preorder for FC3 had separate info about when the preload will start.

Looks like since its a custom installer, there might not be an option to preload :( ! That sucks , man ! That means I can't play on Day 1 even though I have preordered. :mad:

I find killing someone with a barrage of steel pipe swings to be extremely satisfying in this game, the feel of impact, the sound effect and the blood spray is just perfect. Also the sound of revolver and the recoil feels so good. Can't believe how brutal TLOU is compared to UC. I like:).
 
Pro tip/glitch: after you killed all the infected and Joel calls the girls...hit start and load last restart point...you get automatically kicked back to the area, but all infected are dead. You cannot progress further as in this case the demo fades out...but you can stay in this area and play around a bit...e.g. shoot nearby Ellie and watch her reaction, shoot the infected and observe the blood physics (yeah, a bit macabre, I agree) etc

It seems like a test run for PS4 DD: they offer fast special servers for download, after ca 12gigs you can start playing...sounds like the promised new PS4 server. Good way to test and observe the load on a supposed high demand game release

Well, DD reality is such: you preload it a few days before release, such that the heavy loads splits over a few days and you get basically max downloadrate, and then you play your game the second the game releases. Steam and Origin experience with dozens of games on PC.
 
Play the demo a bit more, it does seems like some of the foliage are indeed interactive, weird that some are like giant rock where they won't move or you can't walk pass them. Anyway about the gun play, anyone find it too loose? It also feel a bit laggy and I though it my tv. I popped U2 in and it felt great. I also though that it got something to do with the character stats upgrade but there doesn't seems to aiming upgrade.

I wasn't complaining about the foliage, I was complaining about the blurred character in the middle. First you spend shitloads of resources rendering him and then you just blur everything.
 
wish they would do cross controller play on the vita, move the inventory and all hud elements to the vita screen with a touch UI. Free up the main screen completely.
 
totally offtopic, but have their been latency-measures when using crossplay?

depends, if ND actually write an app for vita that everything actually runs on vita, instead of streaming over a video like remote play, there should be little to no lag. Like guacamelee cross controller play on Vita where it runs the vita version and sync to the PS3 version. The app only need the hud and some ui graphic data or map, so should be small to download. Its not like it needs the full game, it only need to transfer the controller input back to ps3 like a dual shock and receive hud data back from the PS3 to update your stats on vita screen. Think LBP2 already did this with their cross controller play too. The control scheme would work wonderfully on the vita, just replace L2 with analog + hold X to sprint, R2 can be L1 + triangle switch shoulder camera. L3 and R3 can be on screen button. Swapping weapons on the weapon slot should be a lot easier with a touch screen control same with inventory. I think this might sell a few vita :D

Oh, okay. Seeing as you didn't actaully qualify your subject, you left us guessing from the context of the post you replied to, who's only complaint was lack of foliage detail.

As for blurring out detail, conceptually it'd be possible to render blurred assets in lower detail, although it's probably not worth the effort. Motion blur adds a sense of smoothness and realism - moving objects appear blurred unless you're visually tracking them, and that can't be simulated in games without very high refresh rates.

You have detail when you stand still and look?? Do you get detail in real life when moving fast? Maybe I don't understand your issue?? But motion blur in the demo is object and camera based and very well done imo...
 
Thanks Gitarro for the hint: checked and saw the light bounce with the red table, also checked how the shadows behave and how they react depending on light source, direction and distance to light source and shadowed surface....nice!
 
Just installed my Xtactic 5.1 headset...and what a difference it makes! Highly recommended to use a good sound setup if available...

Yeah, you are right, I somehow was expecting a full streaming setup ala OnLive and I also tend to forget that the PS3 pads themself are limited by bluetooth.

Motion blur with your eyes/brain vs motion blur with a video camera vs motion blur in games are three separate things. Motion blurring in games destroy detail in the picture in order to TRY and fool your brain that the movement is smother.
