I keep hearing there is no matchmaking support. I'm quite puzzle how they could have omitted that.
Are we supposed to browse thousands of lobbies to join random games or what?
Seriously if this is the case, that's even worse than Warhawk, great gameplay with terrible online service.

i swear the way that i thought that they had it set up was like COD4, i dont mind server lists..or maybe it would be like R2 where you can join a room or you can jump into one automatically, i think it would make more sense with browsing lobbies since i dont see how match0making would work better for clan matchs, which as we all know will be a big part of kz2 online

You can automatically join a game based on your preferences* OR you can select from a list of servers matching your preferences OR you can see all servers. You can breakdown by region/worldwide, game mode, players, weapons, players ranking etc.

It is the best possible combination of options. Matchmaking is merely joining the first game available or hosting yourself if there are none anyway (*thus matchmaking is in KZ2). To pretend it is in anyway superior to just acquring a list of servers and joining one is laughable.

Additionally as someone in AUS and a heavy CoD player, the ability to limit selection to my own country and to limit players to my own skill level eliminates the two MAJOR problems that that game suffers. Joining US servers/US players joining AUS servers and been a level 55/65 player having to demolish wave after wave of new guys. And it couldn't be simpler.

I've read somewhere that Sony is planning to spend 2 million euro's for advertising in the UK alone for KZ2.

I don't know a lot about advertising campaigns but that seems quite high ?

They spend pounds in the UK, not Euros.

You can spend both dude. I know you know that.

I guess it just puts a monetary figure on the amount being spent. What's 2 million euros = in £s? Anyway, probably like you, I'd heard 2 million POUNDS.

Ho hum.

Who knows, currency is changing so much these days. But yes, I heard pounds too.

I forgot. So this is a 32 player Sony-hosted server game ? Or is it 16 player ?

EDIT: Answering my own question...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killzone_2

"Warzone", the title of the multiplayer component of Killzone 2 has been developed by Guerrilla Games in conjunction with the game's single-player campaign.[8] The multiplayer gameplay is class-based, meaning the player can choose a class of character which is specialized for a specific role to better suit the player's needs in battle. There will be 16 classes in total, in which the player can mix and match two according to their playing style, and can switch abilities upon death. Game director Mathjis de Jonge has confirmed there are currently no plans to have co-op in Killzone 2. [9]
Warzone plays out through dynamic matches whereby multiple game types are played in a single round. The game ships with five different game types including Assassination, Search & Retrieve, Search & Destroy, Bodycount and Capture & Hold.[10] Up to 32 players can connect online, and group into squads of up to four players. Furthermore, two squads can group together as a faction of eight players. Killzone 2 also offers a clan system, which allows clans of up to 64 players to compete for "Valor Points", an in-game currency that clans can use to bet on tournaments.[citation needed]
Vehicles have been confirmed to be part of the multiplayer experience and are to be patched after the game releases.[11]

I thought people in GAF mentioned that the clan limit is higher ?

2 million euro is roughly 1,8 million pounds. I have done a lot of UK shopping lately because of the weak pound.

I've read in in euro's but it is not uncommon that some sites make some kind of simplistic 1:1 euro conversion to make it easy for the reader. So they may have stated it incorrectly.

Dark, gritty games have been around for a long time and still published recently. KZ2 made the hostile Helghast world look subtly beautiful (and en location) to me. That is the visual difference. :)

I believe there are day time levels in KZ2 (e.g., The desert), but very dusty. Like MGS4, the location and ambience are carefully chosen to maximize the art and emotion impact. IMHO, it's a step in the right direction.

I got to play the demo yesterday. One of my friends work at the paramus park mall in jersey. For those that know the mall there are two gamestops. Well now there is one , the food court one closed down. I went over there to say by to some people that will most likely move on and i will never see them again. However the sony rep was there and had a demo of kz2.

The game is visualy impressive , its easily the best looking game on consoles. Its not up to crysis quality but its certianly above GOW2 and COD WW. I'm not a fan of the controls. I don't know if its just because I don't like the ps3 controller but moving around felt off to me. The game was really fun to play though and I will most likely pick this game up.

I'm hoping by GOW2 you're talking about Gears of War 2 and now God of War 2.

Yes I am.

Gears of War 2. It looks better. The best way to describe it is crysis on the dx 9 path with a medium to high setting.I must say , I was very impressed with the visuals

Could I ask someone with ties to Guerilla Games / Sony to confirm if there's a cut or uncut version of the game coming to Germany/Switzerland? If not, is there a single version for entire Europe (multi language) or are there going to be localised versions of the game?

A friend of mine and myself would like to preorder the game, but want an english copy that's not cut!

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

PS3 games dont have region coding, so you can buy UK/US version of the game and it will work fine.

While games don't have region coding, a lot of the DLC content and patches for the games do. That's important to keep in mind when importing, you'll have to get any add-on content from the PSN store of the region you bought it from. Not an issue for free content, can be tricky for paid DLC.

And updates/patches too. My Japanese Uncharted didn't get a trophy patch til way later than Euro and US.
