Okay, they should talk about how the storage and streaming stuff work too. I believe Insomniac and NaughtyDog streamed dialogue, video, music, and other low priority game data from Blu-ray, and the time-sensitive ones from the HDD.

There's just something about this screenshot that awes me. Maybe it's the scale and lighting combined with the massive plumes
of smoke, but I find it very aesthetically pleasing.

More screenshots of that specific level.

thanks, impressive.

Although I am going to buy the game I will not persevere that far with it (Unless easy mode is extremely easy) as I suck big time at FPSs but at least I can fluke my way through some online matches which makes it worthwhile me buying it.

They aren't. Reviewers are. Dimwits.

As I said previously elsegafwhere, seems to me that Sony sent copies to lots and lots of sites, many of which are nothing more than crappy glorified no-name blogs with no credibility. Everyone and his dog has a copy. That, added to the fact that reviews will come out way earlier than the game, is gonna make it really hard to avoid spoilers.

That's not true. There were limited copies that would play on retail PS3s. Plenty of debug review copies. Sony has run out of copies playable on retail PS3's until closer to release.

I thought all review copies only ran on debug units.

Lemme change that, seems like there are lots of debug units around!!

I've already seen too much of the game anyway. Hope it doesn't get spoiled.

Usually there are retail review copies - but often much nearer release. Killzone 2 was the exception. Sony are trying a kind of viral marketing to get journo impressions on the net. They know how good it is.

Journalists need to follow some ethics code while entrusted with a copy before release.
Media cannot be gagged, but they need to know that " With great power comes great responsibility !":yep2:

Really? I think it is. The hype is beyond enormous.

I think it is amongst those "in the know" or more informed gamers. I'm not sure about the general buying public that you need to drive big sales. They're probably hoping that those informed people will run and tell all their gamer friends that don't read blogs, forums etc.

Well, if they can pull of a CoD word-of-mouth, it's certainly cheaper than going all Halo.
