Japan Sales Thread

I'm actually quite curious how Heavy Rain will do in Japan. It probably won't do great, but there is something about it that makes me feel that it could be popular there.

If it included a "girlfriend simulator" or a karaoke segment or "photograph the female characters" mode I'd be pretty up on it's chances. As is, though it'll be interesting to see how it's received over there. "Novel games" are fairly popular but usually only in regards to the previously mentioned game types or in Hentai games.

There's more than that... there's GT5, a few RPG's, Yakuza 4 and a Gundam (I think) game. Not sure how this will do, but there's also the "This is it" bundle.

Yakuza 4 will be huge of course, but aren't most of those out in late March to early April?

Heh, I wouldn't mind bigger handhelds as I get older and older and my eyesight gets worse and worse. I'll be needing reading glasses soon. It's a bit odd to go from living your entire life being nearsighted to suddenly being farsighted and unable to focus on objects up close... I'm rambling aren't I? :p

The Wii's not getting Valkyria, though.

On the other hand, Nintendo announced the date for Other M today, as well as a Mistwalker/Hironobu Sakaguchi game and they renamed Monado in Japan to Xenoblade, and it looks sorta like a Xeno* game. So, uh, Wii's looking up.

I think JPT's point is just that PSPGo is dead expensive!

Oh, sure, I understood. I just don't think it's a good comparison. The Wii's not particularly expensive, and the situations in which you're in the market for either a Go or a Wii seem pretty rare. Especially if you go by game selection.
