I'm still quietly impressed by the PSP though - the way its going now it may get surprisingly close to PS2 lifetime sales. It still beats all next-gen consoles combined!

Yes, it seem that Japan don't like more non-portable console…
Only 100k Wii for 5 week, it's very small…

It does, however it had a full year headstart. Its selling well anyway.

Its only been selling between 5 and 8 thousand less then PSP in the last few weeks. Not great but not too bad, especially considering it consistently sells more software then anything other then DS. No doubt people in Japan prefer handhelds though, they have for some time, even when Wii was selling amazingly well DS was usually selling more AFAIR.

Holy hell at MH 3 and DQ IX. I was expecting them to do well. But MH 3 did even better than I expected.

And I'm honestly surprised that Gears 2 sold better than King of Fighters XII.

Yeah, I failed to notice these weren't in the same weeks. I do remember though finding it very odd that there was no spike whatsoever when Gears 2 was released, despite its sales. So maybe it caused a delayed spike, because of stock, word of mouth, or other reasons (maybe a whole bunch of 360s RRODd after playing Gears 2 for two weeks in the summer
