If he thought that little sex scene in Fahrenheit was about love, then I've just lost all hope about Heavy Rain ever having a decent storyline involving love.

Heavy Rain facing same O censorship issues. Personally, I hope they don't touch the original content. But as a parent, I can understand the paranoia perfectly. Is it a good idea to do a DLC to patch back the adult content ?

Wow, so they've decided on goin' the interactive sex mini-game route. That puts heavy rain back into my not interested pile. That stuff is so embarrassing.

*Nod* *Nod* but this is what I want to see for myself: Whether the tech and techniques have progressed far enough for me to look past the embarrassment. Admittedly, it doesn't have to be in the full game. I am curious whether someone can do a convincing scene.

Thing is it will probably be a choice and so you would only have to endure it if you choose to tackle the scene that way.

I believe what Scott_Arm is saying is that even if he doesn't play the (embarrassing) sex scene in HR, the default assumption is he bought the game for it. :)

I just mean it's embarrassing to play through sex mini games. Those games make me feel like a huge loser. I'll go back to the God of War mini-game. Me and my bro stumbled upon it and his girlfriend happened to walk in the room. She rolled her eyes and said, "You guys are losers." My embarrassment was palpable before she walked in the room, and much worse after.

Is your brother's girlfriend some form of ultimate authority for you  Sounds like she needs to lighten up.
How can you get embarrassed by something like that? Well ok I put that under some cultural differences and won't hold it against you m'kay.

I'm sure some brief nudity is not the bulk of the experience in Heavy Rain just like it wasn't in God of War or in Mass Effect. It's hard for games to reach respectable status when even gamers think that some of the mature themes are immature.

My wife thought the sex mini game in GoW was pretty fun. Seems like your bro's girlfriend need to lighten up a bit...

lol ive been walked in on watchin porn and didnt feel the slightest bit embaressed, funny thing is i think i would if it was a mini game just seems something taboo about it wether justified or not

I don't think mature themes are immature, I think most mature games are immature.

Anyways, I'm derailing things way too much here.

I'm actually glad they're trying to push boundaries. I wish more devs didn't hold back because of fear of censorship.

What's so innovative about this game? AFAICS it's simply a prettier version of older games types (Dragon's Lair meets visual novel). They are the only ones doing it, but innovative?

Well, I would say that you can't see very far then :)

Although Heavy Rain has been delayed, the devs want to maintain some presence.

Heavy Rain podcast/interview:
http://www.kombo.com/article.php?artid=13624.

This week's show is all about Heavy Rain. Sony Producer Petro Piaseckyj joins us to talk about the project. We cover everything from gameplay, characters, script size (2000 flippin' pages) and all that's in between.

If you're a PS3 owner or you plan to pick up the Slim, this episode is for you. Heavy Rain will be hitting retail at the onset of next year, download this episode for a taste of what's to come.

I have not listened to it myself.

While the game looks interesting at least in the GDC video the character movements and the faces looked very odd. Considering how I have been seeigng mocap and awesome facial rendering technology being associated with Heavy Rain it sure was a disappointing video. Seems to me that Half Life still has set the bar quite freaking high in terms of realistic faces.
