Formula 1 - 2013 Season

Nice to see Mercedes sandbagging all weekend like red bull used to convincing everyone else they actually have a chance of pole.

:D I wish. Hamilton was so close to not even making Q1 lol.

Should be a good race. Will be interesting to see if Mercedes have fixed their tyre problems.
Hoping for rain, in which case I think Rosberg and Alonso could be strong, and maybe a good performance by Button as well.

The current forecast says rain for whole sunday.

Hoping for 1st corner crash where at least Vettel gets knocked off the race, just to make the championship more interesting.

The winner is obvious, of course

Well they do say hope is the last thing to go Kaotik, so keep dreaming! :D

Actually I think Kimi might have a decent race today, he'd been pretty quick up until final qualifying again, both him and Alonso are well out of position for their pace.

Alonso 5th already! Vettel so fast on the straight...

Another Webber "start".

Vettel just driving away, he's had the top speed on the straight all weekend. Now the car is fastest on the straight and corners it doesn't bode well for the rest.

Alonso takes Button, think he'll be 2nd soon.

Alonso vs Hamilton coming up after pitting, this should be good. Have to fancy Alonso to pass though. How far ahead is Vettel though. :(

Alonso past, Hamilton might repass! Great stuff by Alonso, hopefully he can catch Vettel because I don't think Hamilton has the pace.

Good race by Button so far, 1-stopping.

They need to be having a long hard look at the Red Bull tbh, where the straight speed has come from all of a sudden.

Is it just me or is Kimi stuck behind Massa every race? :p

Kimi out, maybe he overcooked the brakes?

That'll be a safety car. Or maybe not, good work by the marshalls.

6s behind, race to the end. The Red Bull is too good though I'm afraid. 1 lap, 1.2 seconds faster just like that.

Done my best to maintain enthusiasm so far but after watching that it's pretty clearly season over and we're back to 2011 levels of RB dominance.

It is sad indeed but what can we do against fortune. If it is written that Fernando will not win, then that's over...

Last year exactly at Spa he lost the title because of that stupid incident which could have threatened his health too

Vettel unstoppable :(
Alonso great race but not fast enough to challenge Vettel

last year, Vettel was 40ish points behind Alonso at this stage and he won
this year, I can't see anything else. Nobody is fast enough :(

If Lotus is right, you pretty much couldn't have worse luck than Kimi had at Spa - the reason for the left front brake to burn up and eventually fail was apparently a damn visor-sheet-thingy the drivers tear off every now and then, which came from some driver in front of him. It was removed at first pitstop from the brake-cooling-duct-thingy but the damage was already done and it was a draw of luck whether it would hold up 'till the end or not.

The chances of that happening are pretty much non existant.

vettel has little to do with the success redbull as a team is... Everyone else in this car will be unstoppable- even Webber if he is allowed.

You guys sometimes confuse yourselves pretty badly and it is very irritating, really

Not true. Vettel contributes as well. E.g. Webber is not a champion material.

Vettel is definitely contributing a lot, there can't be any doubts about that now.

I would love to know where Red Bull found a second however. I knew watching the practice that they had pulled out a huge lead over the Mercs. Ferrari too made a huge improvement it seems but the Red Bull never stops improving enough. That final stint today he just drove away at a second a lap, easily as that, and probably had something in reserve still.

Alonso is phenomenal, everybody can surely see it. He's a machine and his first laps are reaching legendary status now. Hamilton had one of those days where he didn't impress (Hamilton has too many of those days imo, and it's why he's not a multiple champion). For me Button is going from strength to strength in that car and will surely be at McLaren next year again. He more than deserves that spot imo.

Kimi unlucky but continues to shoot himself in the foot with shit qualifying. I thought Rosberg would beat Hamilton today and he probably should have, as for Webber...dear oh dear. I like him but I'll be happy to see Ricciardo pushing Vettel a lot more.

The Q3 was nothing but a draw of luck for everyone involved, had Lotus gotten him out from getting the intermeds on 4-5 secs earlier he would have gotten the driest track of anyone. Hamilton was the lucky one this time with driest track.
