Yes, but the fact that Red Bull suddenly decides to backtrack their earlier statement (and history of previous announcements) of when they'll be revealing their driver line up and telling they'll be announcing it later at Monza weekend (where Ferrari traditionally reveals their drivers, which is the other team rumours are putting Kimi into at the moment) doesn't side with Eddies words here.

I doubt Kimi was actually in contention for the RB job. It's just not their style, and Ricciardo has seemed like a shoo-in for me right from the start. He's exactly what the team needs, although he might actually end up being too quick for comfort.

Kimi to Ferrari sounds like bullshit to me also tbh, but EJ was right about Hamilton when everybody else said "No way!", so I'll wait and see. For me though Ferrari would be a lot better served with Hulkenberg. Surely the point of replacing a driver is to get a new one in who has a chance of going on to be a multiple world champion once the established guy retires or gets too slow? I don't think Alonso or Kimi have 5 more years left at the top, probably not even 3.

Why would Kimi go back to Ferrari? Why would Ferrari admit they were wrong to buy him out in 2009?

Kimi to Ferrari sounds like a negotiation tactic aimed at RBR.

I honestly think it's been bullshit all around. Massa is probably leaving but Hulk is surely the one coming in.

Kimi is a good driver but neither move makes sense - if he was 25 years old then sure. He's got a good seat at Lotus at this stage of his career, and he knows it. Whether or not they'll be competitive next season is unknown, even with the loss of Allison.

I really couldn't see Vettel and Kimi cohabitating well. The first time Vettel doesn't get his way he'll blow up. And if Kimi is constantly told to back down or let Vettel pass? Hoo boy.

Regards,
SB

Err, Kimi is perfect for Red Bull's cool'n'extreme brandimage and they already sponsored him in rally. Also pretty 2 of the 4 relevant in the team (Horner, Newey) like him and want him in, Mateschitz and Marko support Ricciardo, but at least Mateschitz has also said that Kimi is definitely option for them

RBR isn't "cool'n'extreme" anymore. Although not up to McLaren levels of stick-in-assiness, RBR have become really corporate after they started winning.

Also, hell will freeze over before they let a co-driver overshadow Vettel.

Kimi certainly has the skill set to do that.

Cheers

Seriously silly season is best part of the season without any doubts.

Based on different, but all "110% reliable", sources, Kimi will drive next season not only Lotus, but Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren too. Only "top team" he's not going to drive for seems to be Mercedes.

Gotta say that it'll be quite a trick to drive 4 cars simultaneously in the race, and if he qualifies to Q3 with all 4, he won't have much time to spare on jumping to next car

edit:
aaand now Red Bull Motorsports posts Tweet about Kimi's first turkish gp victory + photo of him on the podium

Now the germans are saying that Nico Hülkenberg is negotiating with Ferrari to replace Alonso. According to Die Welt Kimi already has a contract with Ferrari and Alonso couldn't handle Kimi coming to team with him, so he's now negotiating with Red Bull.

Gotta love the silly season

Hamilton claims he's not Vettel's main rival - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/23805727

Mostly linked for the amazing 2008 race highlights where Hamilton hunted down Kimi for the win (which was taken off him afterwards in a pathetic decision by the stewards).

No matter how fanboy one is or isn't, no-one can claim the decision by stewards was wrong, he gained advantage by cutting corner and never really gave it up
Had he went through the corner like it's supposed to, he wouldn't have had the chance to pass Kimi on the next corner

Err, he was deliberately run wide by Kimi, and gave the place back and then passed fairly after Kimi was weaving like a madman on the straight.

I fail to see how he gained an advantage when he was level at worst after being run off, then behind on the straight.

The penalty was a joke, probably one of the worst I've seen in F1 after Senna's "cutting the chicane" one. It was purely done to ensure the championship wasn't already over.

Lewis Hamilton penalty is 'worst judgment in F1 history', says Niki Lauda

Back then you had the right to keep your driving lane when you were ahead like Kimi was, Hamilton should have backed off and try again later.

Had he lifted off and actually do the corner, he wouldn't have been anywhere as close to Kimi on the straight, he first barely let Kimi back ahead and then slipstreamed right away past him, something he would have never had a chance to do without cutting the corner.

Niki Lauda is a joke these days, has been for years, he blabbers whatever whenever, sometimes sane things, sometimes like this, not.
