Formula 1 - 2010 Season

Kubica is not confirmed for Renault yet.
He can walk away because Renault is no longer majority stake holder.
Obviously he is almost certain to stay with them, but I have a feeling all will be known after M.S. neck screening ;)
He is certainly confirmed and he has a contract. The problem is that the contract has a clause about significant changes in the ownership of the team or somesuch and thus the contract may be invalid or subject to renegotiation.

I hope it's true, but I'll wait for Schumi or Mercedes to announce it before I'll get exited about Alonso beating him again. :D

Alonso will beat him only if Ferrari will make a good enough car, Alonso can only thank the superior Renault for beating MS

If the McLaren, Ferrari and Brawn are all pretty equal it will make a fascinating battle next year. Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso and Schumacher is pretty exciting!

Shame Kimi went for Rally instead of McLaren or Mercedes (which of both tried to get him), would make it a lot more interesting, he was there to beat MS several times too, and would have won at least one if not 2-3 championships had the McLaren been more reliable

That's great news for F1. I am sure he'll have fun. See if he can match up to Roseberg after the retirement.

Ahhh, the tabloids are going to have a whale of a time all year next year - the all English team battling the all German team...

Driver wise at least . I have to say being English I'm quite happy Brawn doin well though. I really rate Ross and what he has done there.

It's not really all German though is it.

The team is English, with German owners and drivers.

I really don't think they will be a strong next season, Ross Brawn is brilliant and certainly stole the march on all the teams last season, but towards the end they weren't really improving the car at all no matter what they tried. With limited rule changes I don't think there's enough scope for him to do something brilliant again.

Hope I'm wrong though as I would like to see Schumacher be competitive.

They have engine that is better suited to their chassis than last season as last season it was all late with Mercedes and used to be with Honda. Should bring some improvements.

execpt for the fact that at the start of the season they had to fire 1/2 of there staff. Also when jenson wasn't doing so well in the back 1/2 of the season Rubens was doing quite well so it could have very well been a issue with a car mod vs buttons driving style.

i look forward to see what the red bull looks like, now that they can completely rediesgn there backend around a double defuser.

As I said, the tabloids will have a field day -small technical details won't stand in the way of them painting this as Englad vs Germany.

We'll have to when they win a race what national anthem they play - Red Bull are a Milton Keynes based team (with heritage through Stewart and Jaguar) and they are (IIRC) registered as Austrian and Renault are based in Enstone but ar registered as a French team; if they play the British National Anthem if Mercedes GP win then I think that will have been because they didn't change the registraton of the team in time.

I'm sure Mercedes will have the team with a German licence. It won't make sense if it doesn't.

It'd be interesting to see how Nico compares to Schumi and it will be a hell of a battle between Hamilton, Button, Alonso, Massa, Vettel, Webber, Rosberg and Schumacher.

I think 2010 is shaping up to be a very special season. Shame Kimi left.

He obviously couldn't handle it. Nobody will miss him because he was never motivated except in 2007 when he was just lucky Hamilton screwed it up big time.

LOL? Both McLaren and Mercedes tried to get Kimi, it was his own choice to leave and go rally.

well, who else could they have gone for? Kimi couldn't be bothered because of money. That is utterly unacceptable for a sportsperson in my opinion when there are drivers like Bruno Senna who is getting sponsors just to get a drive. Maybe I am wrong that they are different things but it wasn't like Kimi was offered a cheap contract, it was not as good as Ferrari payment for not driving but definitely good enough from what I remember.

Now now now, lets not get caried away here. If McLaren or Mercedes would have really wanted Kimi, they would have gotten him. ;)

I wouldn't call making a half-assed offer to Kimi really wanting him... :p

Considering getting would have costed around $45 million (Ferrari salary + compensation he's getting now), I wouldn't call it "half-assed" try to get him
