My final judgement for tonight is: target renders using ingame assets in their current, not final state with a concept HUD slapped on top.
Well that would suck....again

Why...if they hit their targets I mean? ...as to date it's not been shown that targets have not been hit. Minus the uber-AA if they get pretty close to this no one will be complaining...unless they really don't like games in the first place.

Why can't the pics be downsampled to a lower resolution giving them free AA in pics like Titanio said????

I'll try to say it in another way... Every, every actual screenshot we've seen so far from every other game has looked and felt realtime. These images don't.

My final judgement: Downscaled in-game shots rendered in higher res and/or AA than the game itself.

And even if they turn out to be "just" in-game assets they are great in my opinion. But then again, we knew that SE has some of the best artists around.

[edit]Whoa, holy thread merge batman!

Ok. I'm going to throw my two cents in..

That HUD doesn't account for the TV safe zone. There is no way they would put selectable options that close to the edges of the screen when it can get cut off in overscan.

As much as I want to be a PS3 ******, I'm going to say these are target renders with a hud slapped on top. i just can't see a 7800 being able to render all of that in motion with those amazing reflections. Unfortunately, PS3 images should look just like x360 images.

The Assassins trailer is far more obviously non-realtime than these shots. I don't think it needs to be brought up here.

It would suck because I am waiting and waiting and waiting...until I see a confirmation that they achieved the quality of the target renders. And when I thought I got the answer as in this case then...BOOM! all excitement goes away when I am being told "that was just another target render". And then here comes the waiting again.
I just want to see an announcement for once that shows incredible mind blowing in game graphics from the beginning.
I am still in doubt when this happens

Now that is a good argument! One could suppose that in this age of HD gaming on non-CRT displays overscan doesn't matter anymore, but you may be on to something here.

Cool beans. I was just asking.
