I would give this game a 5/10 on graphics just because of the crowd

The first few have better crowds, the really shitty 2d crowds start around your tenth image. Makes me think there's some development in between. Unfortunately Gamespot doesn't state dates for the images.

true, i also noticed that. but i bet the better crowd shots must be the newer built. otherwise it wouldnt make sense. still, the boxers are nothing short of mind boggling looking. everything the sweat, lighting and muscle definitions are all top notch.

Doesn't appear to be a different build. I think Picture number 4 sheds the most light onto what's going on. The first (maybe second row) are 3D spectators. But beyond that it appears to be blocky 2D.

Man those gloves look sweet. Does this game have 4xAA or are these touched up?

it's been a while since i played it, but IIRC the crowd in the 360 version is 2D as well. not a jaggy mess like on PS3, but sheets of tiled 2D people. and the animation of all of the tiles was linked, so when generic guy in the white shirt claps and moves, all 200 of his clones do it as well.

I wonder why other games don't seem to benefit much from the extra development time on the PS3, when this seems to be. I wonder how MOH:Airborne will turn out.

Anyways, this is looking pretty sweet - barring the crowd is a 'work in progress', cause those shots look quite scary!

They didn't appear to be 2D to me, although to be honest I haven't paid too much attention to the crowd. They appeared to all be 3D models, just with each instance of a single type running a single animation script. I could be wrong though.

Looking at these shots though, isn't the PS3 version missing the depth of field effect that the 360 version had?

Exactly. So I'm wondering if they developed this from scratch, or if it's a port of the 360 version. Isn't it EA that has different teams developing each version of their multiplatform games? If so, because this would suggest that this is NOT a port, but rather a PS3-specific build of the game. I don't know really...can someone please confirm/correct this?

The only PS3/360 specific teams I've heard of are for Madden.

The crowd in the 360 version is all 3D, I think you're confusing it with the depth of field effect on the background which appears to have gone missing too in the ps3 version.

You sure? I thought they were as "3D" as those "2D-Polygon" guys in GT4, could be wrong though, haven't played that for some time now too...
