I too am interested in exactly what is making this game look better than the 360 version.

Time...
a technical person earlier has said here that EA used a new modelling capture system which recreates the skin better than what they used in the previous version.
Nope. More things than time.
That is already one reason. There are more reasons that just that though.
Oh and why didn't they use this new modeling system last year ?
Again....developement time..
Yes correct, but it sounds like some people (including myself) want to know specifics.
Nope. More things than time.
Only when we see FN4 on both systems will we know if that's true.
You're speaking on a different level than others. Others are talking about the root cause. You're talking about the immediate cause. It's pretty easy to infer bias from focusing on the later while skipping the former. It's not always right to do that, but it is pretty easy.No Tap In had one of the things that made the game look better.

No Tap In had one of the things that made the game look better. I'm NOT saying the system is more powerful.
It was the extra time that allowed them to add/refine features. The 2 go hand in hand. What do you think is the result of having more time? Improved systems/features.
Exactly I know this. I mean seriously I just said that to Ike Turner like 4 post up. Did you not read the thread?
Well with a multi-platform company like EA, that always stays politically correct, you won't hear much about specifics.
Use your eyes, better lighting, better skin textures, more detail (veins etc) are the main differences.
Oh, I understand that. I'm just trying to explain why you're getting a wall of undesired answers.I wasn't trying to do anything though.
EA has already told us what the difference were. You just named them, so EA does talk specfics.
OK buddy, whatever you say.
For those less interested in the console power/development time semantics... could someone lend some insight on what things they could be using to improve the look of the skin? I read Tap In's post about the new capturing tool they're using, but on the execution level does that involve better textures, improved shading techniques etc? It almost looks like they've got a decent fake of sub surface scattering going on there. The skin of the fighters in the first version is a lot more matte in comparison.
The answer is both. More time allows us to think about how to do things in different ways. At the same time, the PS3 is a powerful system and there are things we can do on this system that are unique. Each system has its advantages but both systems are really powerful tools that help us to make the great games we want to make.
