DriveClub by Evolution Studios [PS4]

BLUR was soooooo much fun and looked gorgeous too, I will never understand why it did not sell !

My wife put more hours into Blur than Skyrim. It also was one of the few multiplayer PS3 games that had flawless voice chat.

And Split / Second was actually a reasonably fun game, just not a lot of replay value is all.

Cheers

Not sure if it's the right topic, but big red card for Evolution Studios in the UK:

The development of DriveClub "will not be affected" by today's layoffs at Evolution Studios, SCEE has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

The clarification follows this morning's report that Sony would be leading a "focused restructure" at three of its European studios – including Evolution.

An exact number of those affected by the layoffs has yet to be confirmed.

Nevertheless, DriveClub is still without a release date following its delay late last year and is technically still on track for an "early 2014" launch.

Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida confirmed last week that DriveClub had not been delayed in order to implement support for upcoming VR tech Project Morpheus.

Wipout HD Fury for super hardcore fun. It was simply brilliant

It is brilliant, but it's also about as far from a new franchise as it gets. In terms of franchises, Wipeout is a dinosaur.

Damn it, I really wanna PS4 Wipeout. Just imagine how awesome that game would look. It already ran at 1080p/60 on the PS3 and looked phenomenal, so you could just about waste all the extra hardware grunt on making it look even prettier now.

I know. :(
Unfortunately some gems are not appreciated as much as they used to in the past.

Scary to think wipE'out is almost twenty years old, hitting the PlayStation in 1995. Mind you, Mario is 33!

I wouldn't want the same WipeOut. I'd want one that fully uses the new controller, and doesn't rely on knowing the boost parts, is less punishing with the barriers, relies more on skill in having the right tilt for slopes and corners and such (and I don't mind battles, just as long as there's the similar mix), and make it more actual racing.

Definitely looking nice. After Gran Turismo 1 and 2 I still think I've exhausted my interest in 'serious' racers compared to games like Burnout and Motorstorm, but I'll be checking out the free PS+ version if they're still doing that.

If they nail the handling and feel I could be hooked.
