I wouldnt be surprised if most games are just running with a Vulkan to GNM wrapper under the hood.
it’s an interesting take. I didn’t consider the option. Any company working with PS3 and forward likely has been used to using it by now. But if you’re in a rush, I can see it being a possibility. For a company like Larian whose likely geared for PC, this may make sense

A seventh gen game running at 30fps on the Playstation 5 just isn't good enough.
Well it is just a really bad remaster. Even the bc Xbox 360 version has now 4k for quite some time. The publisher just doesn't care about a real remaster. The remastered GTA trilogy is still ... well not that great.

But Rockstar never claimed it's a remake, did they? It's just a low effort port. If you don't like what it is, just don't buy it. I never get this kind of complaining, just vote with your wallet.

Also I'm more interested in seeing a Switch review.

Sure I vote with my wallet by not buying such low effort port. But the problem is, in general such a game is good, but the production quality is bad. So if you vote against such a product only with your wallet, such games will vanish. I really hoped the publisher learned it's lesson after the bad GTA trilogy press. But seems like they only want to invest minimal. Such bad ports can easily kill a franchise ... but I guess not rockstar games.

People can be critical on the technical makeup of products in a forum thread about an outlet that reviews games on their technical makeup, sorry if this offends.

Except it doesn't seem there is anything wrong with the technical makeup. From the little I've read it's a stable 30fps at higher resolution than the original. As Rockstar never claimed this is anything other than a straight port I don't see an issue with that.

You could argue the value proposition is poor given it's $50 for a straight port. That's fair. But Rockstar seems to think otherwise so if you don't want to pay that don't buy it or wait for a discount. I don't think there's much go discuss there.

Is this the first instance of FSR2 running on 8th gen consoles?
I can't remember any prior game using that (only FSR1) on the last gen machines.
First one to be shown on Digital Foundry. As for FSR2, it makes sense a direct port of a 7th Gen game, there should be a great deal spare compute power to make use of it.

I think people are questioning it because this is already avalible on the xbox series at the same resolutions and frame rates without having to rebuy the game.

I am more angry by the fact that it doesn't get proper backlash on medias.
You're angry that other people aren't angry? That's not great for your mental health dude.

What baffles me is how folks continue to be angry or surprised that some publishers will make the least viable effort to bring products to market? These are not dedicated fans of the material, willing to put in their own unpaid time, they're ruthless corporations out to make a quick buck,

Given how Take Two and Rockstar's treatment of their premiere IP in the Definitive Edition of the GTA Trilogy, why were you expecting more than the bare minimum? Particularly when this doesn't even claim to be a definitive edition and no improvements were ever promised.

On PS4? What else would they use, even with the most extravagant port, which this isn't. FSR2.x is better than Rockstar's TAA only solution used for RDR2.
This is sufficiently bad that when I started the video my first thought was “wow they didn’t even bother to add TAA.” There are a myriad of games on the prior gen consoles with far superior TAA. Doom games, UE4 games, Naughty Dog games, the AC trilogy, Insomniac games, God of War, The Order etc.

None of those options are available to third parties, other than The Orders MSAAx4+honking great boarders.

I’m not sure what you mean with this. Why would any of those games specific implementations need to be available to other devs? The development should have been budgeted to code a TAA of at least average quality. FSR is an awful technology.
