Assassin's Creed 2 teaser trailer.

Uncharted 2 was the "wow!" game of the show for me in terms of graphics but this atleast matched it.
I tough to decide between both this game, but I would put uncharted ahead.
First I favor the color palette which match the eye candies better and I could not find hint of HDR of some sort in this gameplay vid. HDR (and tone mapping) could make the stealth part of the game more meaningfull.

I was in venice and at all those key spots in the demo last winter so that probably has something to do with it. :p Just an amazing place. A place everyone needs to visit at some point in their lives.

This looks like the "wow!" game of the show for graphics to me, actually. Lighting (dynamic day-night cycle so no lighting baked into textures like in U2 + huge totally explorable and interactive world.

Mhh, there's HDR. One the scene transitions to daylight is pretty clear.

The night scene in Venice with all the fire works and lighting effects are absolutely a feast to the eyes, also love the water reflection which accentuate the mood in artful way. Definitely a graphical showcase. For whatever lighting method they used here sure worked well.

I never bought part one but with the improvements I'm guessing they made to part 2, particularly in the area of diminishing repetitiveness, they just might well get my dollars this time around.

AC2 really was up there but for me Alan Wake just blew away everything else. The scope, effects,.. everything!

Well I watched again Alan wake gameplay vid and it's quiet neat too, lightning is cool, I like the waterfall.
I would like to see how it looks during the day, the level of freedom, etc.

There is a flyby video with daytime. Watch in HD as the SD video looks pixelated.

I like Venice but the Renaissance took place in Florence, which would also look great.

People in this thread referred to the repetitive gameplay of AC1 and it's interesting that the guy who narrated the E3 demo at the Sony press conference talked about "diversity" of things you could do.

However, they seem to be skipping the more interesting possibilities of online. They could have copied and expanded on the assassin mode in GTA4 and come up with some other fresh ideas.

We threw around ideas about multiplayer online games in which the assassin and their quarries would be known only to those players.

But Ubisoft could just concentrate on delivering intricate environments and great animation and those factors alone would move a lot of units.

Best looking game of E3, hands down (imo). Still playing the first one on PC as I have a tendency to really enjoy ancient period pieces such as this series.

Still not sold on the gameplay from what I've seen, but I'd like to know more. At least it looks like there's aren't long after-death speeches. Wonder how the glider works, though.

amazing beautiful game.... my jaw dropped at the flying scene....

open huge world (not corridor action), full day and night lighting cycle (not static) makes me appreciate what they are doing here

Very interesting, I specially like the part when he talks about the AI not being on-off like in the first AC, but here the enemies will remember you and generally act more realistic.

Also it's good to know that the PC version will be available on holiday and not six months later than the console versions like last time.

I hope the tearing don't remains the same seen in the video of the sony conference in the final build...really terrible and reminds me to the first AC on the ps3 ... please Ubisoft not do it again...

I don't think there's even a single UBI game without the screen tearing, and it's always been worse on the PS3 as well :devilish:
