Hey look, they're making a film-game of The Patriot.

hm... interesting. The game info page on xbox.com lists 4player co-op.

Doesn't seem too hard to believe.

I desperately need to buy Revelations.

As much as they have milked this franchise, I still love it. And though I find the concept of an american revolution setting a bit of an uninteresting and shameless pandering to the anglo-american consumer, I get a bit of a RDR vibe from the footage and that can't ever be a bad thing :-D

I just hope that they diversify the mechanics a bit and have some in there like the hunting in RDR. Hunting in RDR was what kept me coming back. By far the defacto most genius meta-game this gen. It was like pokemon... I just had to catch em all :cool::razz:

Revelation was the first in the series I didn't buy day one. I'm waiting for some sort of complete edition at half price myself.

Trailer looks cool. 4-player co-op can be chaotic fun  !
I liked the first game but lwt go after that, too much stuff to do in the game , too little time. Also, i outgrew the parkour very quickly :( ! Infamous' traversal felt so much better, and faster, that I couldn't enjoy AC after that.

I think they kinda earned it, after playing through 4 games set in the Middle East, Europe, and Small-Asia... :D

I passed on Revelation as well, and didn't finished Brotherhood. Game is still good, but it started feeling too much like the same old thing to me. I'm definitely going to buy Assasins Creed 3 though, I like the new look and location.

They were just settings, not ideologies. The entire theme of this new game seems to scream "bow down in awe of americas greatness"

I'd talked myself into giving the game a chance until I saw that video. Looks like Revelations will be my last foray into the world of AC.

    Haha... really?
well maybe you would feel beter about it if you could look at it as the US would never have won the Revolutionary War were it not for the Elite skills of the Assassins.

This is nothing compared to the entire "war shooter" genre. Anyhow, the series has been hinting at this for a while. Not to mention that the founding of America has always been rich soil for conspiracy theorists.

Good point, and it gets me thinking how cool it could be to see a slightly futuristic Assassin's Creed in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Yeah, just like Vice City isn't GTA 4 and San Andreas isn't GTA 5. GTA 4 came out after those two games and GTA 5 should be out next year.

Yeah its just a quirky naming convention where direct continuations of the previous games aren't numbered sequels. Whereas the numbered sequals represent major changes (and hopefully innovations) in the design and gameplay of the new game, as well as a brand new story in the universe.

For Assasin's Creed, is it story, or game engine that determines the version number? Usually it's one of these two, not necessarily both.

Well i only assume both as as far as i'm aware for AC3 there's no more Altier, Desmond or Ezeo. So the character story is all new, along with the brand new engine.

Doesn't makes sense to not have Desmond, he'll definitely be there.
