Amazing new PGR3 shots

am i the only one that thinks it's annoying that just about every game coming out on the xbox 360 tries to hide the fact that the graphics on the games aren't that that much better by using the bloom effect on everything possible.

I'm probably not the only one who is thinking that you are smoking crack and/or forgetting what console games today actually look like.

Well the Saleen obviously occupies a much greater screen space so it should have a much higher LOD.

The super shiny paint job is unrealistic, if these cars were really driving around in those conditions they would be pretty dirty. OTOH I can understand how they would want the super shiny finish because it's more flashy. I would really like to see a good racing sim next generation with realistic damage and blemishes like dirt and dents on the cars.

Forza Motorsport 2. ;)

If you think super-shiny paint jobs are unrealistic, you should move to someplace where people wash their cars.

The polycount on that photo's pretty low, and the cube-mapped sky is unrealistic. Texture on the driveway looks terribly flat too. All in all real-life is pretty unimpressive...

showed the new trailer to one of my friends and he said it looked impressive for this gen but not for next gen...

what!?

some people confuse me....

i believe if you watch the presentation vid (not just the trailer) they are only really showing off gotham tv.

perhaps they don't want to show the actual in game shots until it's nearer completion.

that and of course the fact that usually all the pretty camera angles look more dramatic and impressive than an in game shot. I doubt we'll see a proper in game shot until TGS at the earliest (starts sept 16th ish iirc)

Funniest post so far today. Yeah some people will never be happy. No gamer should look at the PGR3 video and not be impressed.

I expected a killer lighting system and other than that, I thought the video was okay.

And it's usually the bad lighting that makes the super-shiny cars look unrealistic when it's reflected off of them.

Today was a bad day at the store for the ps2 . I brought in the pgr 3 video and encoded it in 480p (out xbox tv will run it ) and we had it running with preorder for the xbox 360 today right next to the new burnout game for the ps2... While the ps2 game looked great putting the pgr 3 video next to it and it was no comparison
