No the launch was planned for December but it was postponed two times.

MrFox is saying that perhaps the 200k was the intended launch amount in that December launch window. Or December 'begin packaging' window.

Maybe after XB1's flop (100k in launch week, nose-dive after that seemingly), Sentient Pearl Lovespace Incorporated (or whatever they're called) decided to scale back the PS4 launch to just 200k?

On twitter I saw tweet a couple weeks ago that only 26 showed up at launch at "Sony's flagship Beijing store" for PS4 launch. https://twitter.com/EdmondLococo/status/578765735863967744 So I would not go too crazy. That and Sony has been bragging about numbers so if they have good ones from China I'd expect to hear something, although to be fair those could kinda be dropped anytime.

I just noticed a Bloodborne PLUS TLOU remaster+$20 gift card bundle for 399, and being sold by official Amazon.com. That should shoot up the charts.

That's arguably represents price (value) parity with x1, since it's effectively 380 with not one but two current free triple A games. Which would be a first on Amazon since a while. I guess you could start arguing semantics there whether AC Unity+AC IV counts as two triple A.

Really hoping that PS4's momentum in Japan continues like this. A sizeable installed base will reassure Japanese pubs to invest in AAA games for the home console and possibly also market those games in the west as well.

Probably more due to the bug fest of the last few BF titles, namely 4. Paying premium for something that "might" work day one isn't very appealing.

I think people are more willing to pay the extra $50 for the unique console artwork, especially first time PS4 owners. The core Batman bundle will probably take off after all the limited editions are sold.
