Secondly, the fact that RE5 (PS3) is on the list and not RE5(Xbox360), pretty much explains everything. I don't think microsoft having multiplatform games is going to help in Japan.

Really? Last time I checked RE5 was a 360 game...no? I'm not here to argue technicalities, the fact RE5(9th most anticipated game on any console in japan) is not a sony exclusive is huge, one more reason to go ahead and buy the 360.
That list isn't supposed to be the end all be all, PS3 games will dominate that list in a few months I'm sure. But seriously it's not as if there aren't some very good quality games coming down the pipe for the X360, big budget titles from respected developers. Am I saying everything will be a hit? Of course not, but there's alot of potential and alot of reason to be excited if you're a japanese gamer.
We'll see when June comes, and sony puts it's money where it's mouth is, I'm extremely interested to see what they're going to have available at launch.

I was in a game store on the 10th and didn't see anything but the reserve tickets for the games. The ones who wanted one probably got their's early, I was there in the late afternoon. MS picked a good day to launch though because everyone at my company and probably many others got their end of year bonus the day before. DOA4 day will probably sell more systems then launch day.
I picked up a DS and Mario Kart. I would have gotten a Xbox 360 since they are so damn cheap here but I'm only here for another 6 months.

How many worthwhile blu-ray movies do you expect there will be when the PS3 launches. Not that many people have HDTVs, probably a lower percentage then the USA if you don't count HD ready computers. I only know one person in my entire office that has one and he uses his computer (and YahooBB! TV) to watch SDTV. I can only imagine what blu-ray movies will cost here, probably as much as any games, talk about a rip off.

I guess i mean, if people are going to buy a console just for RE5 in japan, its kinda obvious which console they will choose; so directly after that its obvious which version will sell more. This is if they launch the game on both consoles on the same day of course, any other way wouldnt apply to this theory. (for example, if RE5 is offered weeks/months/days ahead on the 360 version opposed to the ps3 version)
