Following Microsoft's decision to drop the price of the Xbox 360 in Europe, analyst Michael Pachter has told GamesIndustry.biz that he expects sales to increase by around 20 per cent over the coming months.
Using these price drop numbers can we make a good guess on how the next US price drop will go?
So by your suggestion we would have...
Arcade - $210
Pro - $270
Elite - $370
...
I just have a hard time believing that they'll drop that much though...
I didn't expect Intertoys to sell it at 199 Euro too, but the scan proves it. It's an 80 Euro drop. I expect other retailers to follow (at least) as Intertoys usually sells at RRP.
The old console law tells us a 199 USD 360 is to be expected. We'll see.
You mean it grosses $306. There's TAX off that, retailer cut, etc.The current conversion means that the 199€ arcade nets MS 306 dollars.
I'm not saying that a price cut is not coming to US, but I checked from the paper that one € is now 1.54$ and I don't think these two currencies are going to be 1=1 for long long time. The current conversion means that the 199€ arcade nets MS 306 dollars, so it's a cut they can clearly afford and Europe is harder for MS than US, so I wouldn't necessary expect immeadiate cut in NA if the sales stays good.
Maybe MS decides to cut prices in NA too, but it hurts them a lot more to do it there and Xbox 360 is doing better against the competition there also, so they have less reasons to cut the price there.
It's coming for GTA4. That of which I'm 99.99999% positive.

LOL!People were positive that MS would drop the price when the PS3 launch. People were positive that MS would drop the price in Spring 06. The truth is MS have been very poor at figuring out ways to give themselves a full advantage over Sony.
LOL!
I'd have thought the truth was that people have been very poor in predicting MS's moves and motives.
