Upgrade advice

I am interested in upgrading to the new Athlon 64. I haven't followed the recent technical articles describing the new processor. I'm aware there are many flavours. I'm looking forward to a version similiar to my xp2600. Not the fastest when it was released, but able to do the job.

Considering the fact that I'll stick with my 9800pro for some time, what motherboard and athlon 64 would you recommend? Note: I'm not a fan of overclocking....

I'd like to read your opinions.

What is your spending limit? From a conservative viewpoint (and since you're not overclocking) I would recommend the 3500+, 90nm. It represents about the best performance/price ratio and runs cooler then the 130nm varients. Though from what I've heard the 90nm 3000+ can be overclocked to around 2.4 GHz on average.
