Sony has already said - multiple times - that the PS3 will launch 'Spring' of 06 in Japan, so if nothing else, whether it has one game or two, I'm just going to assume a spring '06 launch for the PS3. A March or April launch before 'Golden Week' in Japan makes the most sense.

..and this assumption of yours about Sony's world wide launch in Fall. Nobody knows Sonys plans.

Sorry Sony (you know the people that actually knows what's going on) has already said Spring 2006. So looks like so far your opinion is based on nothing, making it not an opinion just a wrong comment.

Sony showed the kz video. My point is if we don't get graphics like that its okay , sony will not be blamed and fan boys will gloss over it . HOwever if it was ms sony fan boys would be all over ms just ilke they were with the raven demo .
There are still people glossing over the "tech demos " from the ps2 launch like the face and claiming games came close to it when they didn't .
IMO, everything up until 11/22 is meaningless. All the CGI, the posturing, everything. I think what really matters is going to be the 2nd wave of games from MS. They'll clearly sell through initial shpiments easily but maintaining interest into 2006 and up to the PS3 launch will be the real key. The really need GoW and something else (too human/mass effect ?) (EDIT: or Halo 3- duh) to be console selling AAA titles to really turn up the heat. I also think the general date will be irrelevant but if Sony launches at anything over $450 it will have a direct affect on sales imo.
BTW i saw the 360 today in NYC, much smaller than i thought it would be. Nothing playable unfortunately but the demo was decent. I had a bad seat off to the side so i didnt have a great view but the games both looked better in person than any videos i had seen (PGR3 and Kameo).

jvd this is the thing that I don't understand about you and others that feel like you. Why do you and others think that next-gen starts and ends with Gears of War and PGR3? Games in 2008+ will crush those two from both systems. You have to let some improvement set into your mind about next-gen possibilities.
P.S. If you notice in the KZ video the buildings and ground wasn't that all impressive.
No that is what you don't get .
I'm not one to believe cgi passed off as what these consoles can do . I want to see real games and not hey here is some cgi buy this system and mabye one day if your lucky this will happen .
So far the ps3 has shown me nothing of what its capable of , its just been smoke and mirrors while those games u mentioned have been played and if quality increases that is a good thing. But i'm not expecting cgi to suddenly become real time just because sony tried to pass it off as in game stuff
