Mid November 06 in US.
scooby_dooby said:Common sense tells you that sony will launch in Japan anyways, so it's not comparable to MS's worldwide launch.
Sony can afford to launch in Japan with a much weaker line-up than MS requires to pull of a NA/EU/JAP launch.
In reality, Sony doesn't really need to start showing playable games until summer next year, to start gearing up for the worldwide launch in fall.
They are probably a 'little' worried about X360 in Japan though, because that domination has formed the backbone of their superior Japanese support, I'm sure they would not be happy to see X360 make signifigant inroads into their main territory.
At this point priority #1 for Sony is slowing adoption of X360, mainly in japan IMO

July IHO is more realistic.
edit - too late
mckmas8808 said:Sorry Sony (you know the people that actually knows what's going on) has already said Spring 2006. So looks like so far your opinion is based on nothing, making it not an opinion just a wrong comment.
AlphaWolf said:Well June 20th is still technically spring, which is less than 2 weeks away from july.
mckmas8808 said:Yet still not July so no go. He's still wrong.
no ones played it cause its cgi as the developer said it was .mckmas8808 said:WOW! I didn't know KZ for the PS3 looked bad after released. Hey jvd where did you play it man? Where did you get a PS3 from and where do you live? I will take the first flight straight to your town.
jvd said:no ones played it cause its cgi as the developer said it was .
So do you think the ps3 is going to do better than the cgi shown ?
If you believe it then my point stands that sony can get away with it but ms would be called on it .
AlphaWolf said:Well he's guessing at a future event, he's not wrong until the ps3 is released; presuming that is sometime before july.
and i don't , kz is cgi . We are talking about games .Yes I do think that games will look better than the KZ video shown on both the Xbox 360 and PS3. That's my point.
jvd said:and i don't , kz is cgi . We are talking about games .
Sony showed the kz video. My point is if we don't get graphics like that its okay , sony will not be blamed and fan boys will gloss over it . HOwever if it was ms sony fan boys would be all over ms just ilke they were with the raven demo .
There are still people glossing over the "tech demos " from the ps2 launch like the face and claiming games came close to it when they didn't .
jvd this is the thing that I don't understand about you and others that feel like you. Why do you and others think that next-gen starts and ends with Gears of War and PGR3? Games in 2008+ will crush those two from both systems. You have to let some improvement set into your mind about next-gen possibilities.
P.S. If you notice in the KZ video the buildings and ground wasn't that all impressive.
jvd said:No that is what you don't get .
I'm not one to believe cgi passed off as what these consoles can do . I want to see real games and not hey here is some cgi buy this system and mabye one day if your lucky this will happen .
So far the ps3 has shown me nothing of what its capable of , its just been smoke and mirrors while those games u mentioned have been played and if quality increases that is a good thing. But i'm not expecting cgi to suddenly become real time just because sony tried to pass it off as in game stuff
Mmmkay said:This is based off your assumption that the PS2 didnt live up to its tech demos right? I especially like how you just whitewashed over MGS4, Gundam, I-8, and Heavenly Sword to name but a few. You seem to be looking for an excuse to pass off Sony rather than asking why you're seeing 'approximations' for games not due for release for at least 12 months from when their trailers were shown.
jvd said:none of which are at the quality lvl of killzone .
No where near killzone .
Mmmkay said:Nothing is, that doesnt mean everything else Sony showed no longer exists.
