Tom Clancy's The Division [PS4, XO]

I really want this to be a good game, it caught my attention at E3 2 years ago and hasn't let me go.

Yeah the graphics looked awesome. But later I learned it's going to feature Destiny-esque online RPG elements. Considering how I've spent who knows, 500 hours on Destiny lately, that's got me really hyped for this.

I even talked to a more casual non-forum posting gamer recently who told me he thinks The Division is going to fix what Destiny did wrong. I'm sure that's just wishful thinking on his part, but it's a fun idea.

This and Halo 5...are my superstars of the future.

However I would sadly, have a pessimistic guess this will not come out in 2015 but rather 2016, perhaps spring. i hope I'm wrong.

It was mentioned during Ubisoft's investor report that the game has slipped into 2016, it's now due in the Spring but before the end of Ubisoft's fiscal year which ends 31 March 2016, so February or March.

Wow... 500 hours. I thought that people were leaving Destiny, at least in my friends list. The thing is that the RPG elements looked to me like Diablo-esque features, just without the mastery of Blizzard.

Back into The Division, I wonder if we will see either an upgrade or a downgrade from the E3 video..it looked so good. The game always reminded me of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the X360 -one of the console's early games-, gameplay wise.

WTF, all the litter on the ground, the little stuff all over the place is all gone. Looks like the Division is coming down to realistic standards of game gfx. Don't like, dont like at all.

yeah everything is downgraded, destiny is downgraded a wee bit (the worse is on tesselation and amount of light source), Division-AssCreed-WatchDogs looks downgraded so much.

theres metal gear 5 that still looks the same across trailers.

so... everything is downgraded or the same... Except titanfall? i think thats one of few games that got UPGRADE instead of downgrade.

Hm...not impressed by the gameplay.

The reveal back then was fascinating imo...this was just standard shooter stuff.

I'm still hyped for the game but those graphics are still a huge downgrade. This game has really fallen.

It's another game that seems to follow after Destiny (of course all games are/have been going this direction) so I will definitely be hyped for it. But the visual downgrade makes the graphics look average now.

Well developers are hoping to achieve better visuals but these boxes just cant do it. Perhaps partially resident textures and tiled resources will eventually help games, given how nice Starwars Battlefront trailers look. That is unless DICE is overshooting SWBattlefront visuals and what its hoping to accomplish with partially resident textures as well.

Hmmm.. I surprised by the reactions. I liked watching the demo at E3, unless I totally misinterpreted what I was watching.

It looked to me like there was a team of players (three?) that were sent into an area to retrieve a package of sorts, and ran into a group of AI Baddies. As they were deciding to attack or avoid, they noticed another group of players were in the same area and also stalking that AI Baddies. They waited to see what would happen. Is this going to be PvE or PvP?

Both player groups take out the AI, and then.. one member of the team decides he wants to try to screw over his team and join the other team and get a solo rather than shared team "victory" of sorts.

Seemed like pretty neat game play possibilities to me. If you can dynamically switch teams during the game and screw over your original team? If you can choose to work cooperatively with other teams in the same map against the AI to reach common goals, or choose to a more "king of the hill" type approach and have your team just be at odds with everybody.

Did I misinterpret the demo, or do all of you just think that concept sucks?

May still be downgraded but that snippet has the game back to looking very good. And it's labeled XBO, so no PC footage shenanigans.

Still, looking great again IMO, Destiny on steroids? (the fan reminds me of that). Very nice lighting. Getting hyped again.
