Any confirmation on Spa? Just like Forza 3, no DLC purchase from me until I get my Spa!

Nothing concrete yet. No doubt we'll find out soon if it is in or not.

As for the videos, I got a pretty nostalgic vibe almost from this - the game looks incredibly polished and the cars are beautiful, but the structure and features of the game are for a large part very similar to GT4. Not that I expect many people to mind that much, after six years. ;) It just needs good online, basically at this point, together with all of the other things we already have (more cars on the track, tire marks, reverse lights, in-car views, and-so-on-and-so-forth).

Apparently the 24th is the currently going date for release, and I'm guessing 24th November rather than December, but we'll see. It does make sense, as it's on a Wednesday (European release generally) and also two days before Black Friday (U.S.), right? And if they've indeed been printing for a week, they'll easily have had the three weeks needed to print these, and I'm sure they just fly these copies in rather than ship them. ;) Of course, stuff can still go wrong with shipping and everything so we'll see, but so far things are looking good. As long as it's at least out before 15 December, I'm good because I have a few weeks of holiday coming up then. :p

Yes, but typically the ads for black friday have been completed WELL in advance. I wonder if part of the delay was talking to stores to see about reprints or inserts which would bear some costs I'm sure. EDIT: One of the sites I browse for black friday ads: bfads.net looks like this is the week most of the ads have been scanned and posted (pre-C&D letters)

They may have to do more aggressive online marketing (No printing overhead).

I should go pre-order Majin and the Forsaken [strike]Garage[/strike] Kingdom now.

That's before my holiday, which is great. :) Now if I want to play this a lot and online with my friends, I'll have to consider getting a second PS3 again though, but hey, that's a luxury problem to worry about when the game is actually here!

Look forward to impressions on the online, as I have a LOT of old GT friends I used to do iLink/LAN parties with and it would be a great way to meet up with them again.

No GT had Spa, IIRC, so that's not much of a surprise. I say bring on the DLC.
The loss of the Seattle circuit is a bigger disappointment.

Well this is a new GT that took 5years so having new tracks probably wouldn't be a surprise...

Anyway, just saw the tracklist. They took out my local track also, Infenion/Sears Point :(

Looking foward to playing the following tracks over and over:
Monaco
Suzuka (my 2nd fav track to Spa)
Daytona Road Racing
Monza
Top Gear test track

I'm too burnt out on N-Ring and Laguna to get excited about them. Always found LeMans to be a bore so there's that.

If it's a popular track, I'm sure they will do a DLC later. They will make more premium car models, right ? RIGHT ?

I'm fine with the tracklist, although I wouldn't have minded some more new ones. I'm mostly interested in the new ones (Cape Ring!, Monza, Madrid, Nurburgring GP, Top Gear) that also weren't in GT5 Prologue yet though with all the physics upgrades, in car view and 16 player online support everything will be new to a fairly big extent again, and so I also don't mind that most of the old ones are back of course (notably Monaco, Deep Forest, Autumn Ring, Grand Valley and Trial Mountain, as well as all of the old city tracks).

There are definitely some favorites missing (Citta di Aria, Grand Canyon), but those were basically rally tracks / time trial stuff and not really suitable for much else. On the other hand there is the track generator and that's a big plus. I also wouldn't mind Complex String at all, such a great practice track for getting to know your car in detail. It has every type of turn in existence basically and I loved it. But yeah, Seattle and Sears were great tracks too.

Le Mans, while boring, is great for multiplayer racing with the really fast (yes, Le Mans Series :D ) type cars, and that we now have a variant with a day-night cycle and 16 cars on track is a huge plus.

This track list doesn't mention the wet, night, and wet+night variations by the way, that I saw on the leaked youtube vids. But I wonder about the stuff mentioned about variable and unpredictable weather.

There are two major things they can still mess up for me from now on (assuming the thing really is on the shelves on time ;) ):
- not properly support downloadable tracks and cars (this is such a huge opportunity - most new car models should be launched through GT from now on! :D) It would be great if they could add/update new missions/events as well (I'm talking about the section that holds the Top Gear training stuff).
- online is a disappointment. E.g. you can't track your friend's progress and records, online matches don't work properly - although from what I've seenof the latter so far it looks great, and there's an experience points system now which is interesting.

First thing I'll likely be doing is what I usually do - get through all the licences asap and next try to get them on Gold A.S.A.P.

Guys, did anyone else view the leaked vids from the retail release? Anyone notice the increased smoke presence? Looks to last double what we've seen in previous builds.

Yes, and it also blows away in a certain direction, already seen in a gamescom build. Some great improvements. Can't wait to get my hands on this game. Tomorrow the countdown from 10 starts, it's a crazy idea after 6 years ...
