Suggestion seems to be that the game got delayed because the latest SDK mandates 3.50 firmware, and so the gold disc had to be changed and as the bluray printing factories are tightly scheduled, it wasn't that easy for Sony to arrange a new 3 week slot needed to print 7 million copies. Interesting if true.

Well, they delayed LBP 2 right ? Can't GT5 take over LBP 2's slack
They did probably, LBP 2 was planned for Christmas period, not beginning of November.

Thank you LBP 2. You gave up 2010 for a good cause. :p

Gran Turismo 5’s Red Bull X1 Prototype Revealed (w/ Specs):
http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5s-red-bull-x1-prototype-revealed-wspecs/

The no-holds-barred prototype developed by Polyphony Digital and Red Bull has been revealed in the latest issue of Car magazine in the UK! As you may recall, the X1 is the answer to Kazunori Yamauchi’s question: “If you built the fastest racing car on land, one that throws aside all rules and regulations, what would that car look like, how would it perform, and how would it feel to drive?”

More car pr0n in the link...

I'm fairly certain the original release date for LBP2 was November 16th.

I'm really hoping that they'll be able to get GT5 out this year. I want to try out my G25 with GT5 badly.

If indeed it drops below 60fps in a situation he describes, I think I can forgive Polyphony.
It'll be 60fps almost all the time anyway, so that'll have negligible effect on gamelpay :)
What about replays? are they 60 fps?

As for the framerate, it was an in issue in prolouge, I mentioned it in detail in the prolouge thread. I'd imagine it'll be an issue depending on the track, number on cars on screen at once and likely added effects.

Did you try running it in 720p mode? Should have less frame drops that way, and look better as well thanks to the 4xmsaa smoothing out all the alpha to coverage effects.

No I did not. On my onkyo, 720p doesn't get a pass through to the TV. It's forced in 1080i (does a poor job of it) and then my pioneer turns that to 1080p. One of those annoying receiver quirks.

Man I hope after all this drama, we dont get stuck with ridiculous load times and slow navigation.

Its something that PD has never really been pressed towards and I have a sneaky feeling they'll try and get away with it too.

Are you talking about one of the few developers who even bother to have an option that allows you to skip all intro screens and cinematics and go to your career mode page straight after booting up the game, setting the number of seconds or if ever the game should go into demo mode from the start screen, and so on and so forth?

PD have a near flawless record here if you ask me, so I'm not worried.

Well those features sound great but when it comes down to it... any ideas as to how long each track will take to load before a race/hotlap? Thats my main concern.

Does GT5 Prologue/whatever current version ... allow installing to HDD and does it improve load times?

(sorry i dont have a ps3 yet... gt5 is the "console seller" for me:p)
