No I'm being very serious. The colors in the PS2 version are deeper and not as washed out, also a few of those comparision shots look considerably sharper on the PS2(probably due to the bump in resolution).

Overall the GC version is better(better textures, geometry and lighting), but I'm still very happy with how this port turned out. All Playstation fans should be very happy. :)

Well i agree that all PS fans should be happy. Or better, all RE loving PS fans should be. I'm not. But then again my PS2 is in a box somewhere.

Personally i think the colours difference has more to do with the display, at the end of the day the colour and brightness can be tweaked on your TV so that point is kinda dead.

Not sure about sharpness, but from experience PS2 has always looked "sharper" (rougher and jaggier) than GC and Xbox games. Sould Calibur 2 was one of the many examples.

Hmm, thanks for that really productive, insightful post, about a totally different game in a totally different genre and it's supposed sequel's impact on another console. This sort of post explains the red mark under your name.

... is it TRUE or NOT,"thanks for that really productive" .. the same go for many posts like "the PS2 is the inferior HW",I repeat the PS2 version of RESI4 is very mediocre port.

You can't fairly compare different genres. Just because GT4 has a 1080i output, doesn't mean every PS2 game can. Just because CON has full screen AA, doesn't mean every PS2 game can accomodate that. The quality of GOW's visuals can't be expected of every game, simply because some are more demanding of background activities meaning there's less resources available to throw at the visuals.

... the quality of GoWs visuals CAN BE expected from ANY third person PS2s action game,and of course the NGCs RESI4 is a common linear third person action game W/OUT a 60fps fluidity,480p 16:9 widescreenu etc. etc.
... talking about loading times at RESI4,play GoW .. thats a PS2 standard,wanna a water effect .. do the same thing,and wait for the GoW2,the PS2 version of RESI4 with single textured surfaces,zero framebuffer effect,30fps,zero specular lighting,a poor water effect is nothing less than a poor conversion work.

I was saying that for a while. there are alot of things they could of done to keep polys and texture rez high. missing trees and fingers could have been avoided with simple lod programs.

ok, i know gow wasn't bad looking, but texture rez and pallet could have been higher. also enemies had no fingers and were low on poly. I thought that could have been better. it also wasn't effect-enriched.

... any PS2 engine/platform like "renderware" or "JaK from ND" can handle Capcoms version of RESI4 but with much better framerate,full streaming etc. etc.

... GoW has HUGE draw distance,insane scenery polycount,twice as much framerate/resolution as RESI4 /NGC/,streaming engine,nice watter efect with fake reflection/refraction/distortion,particle effects,per vertex lighting,chrome mapping,zero pop ups,invisible LOD system,projected shadows etc. etc.

... the PS2 version of RESI4 is a standard mediocre example of Capcoms koding.

... I ask you ONCE AGAIN,do you think that GAME with SINGLE textured surfaces,VERY LOW RESOLUTION TEXTURES,POOR 30fps or LESS,ZERO LIGHTING/WATER/POST PROCESS/FRAME BUFFER EFFECTS,VERY LOW POLYCOUNT.
... is a GOOD coded game,and shows the power of a PS2,really DONT MAKE ME LOUGH.
