when did they say that? anyway, i dont think that engine push ps2 in to right places.hupfinsgack said:Exactly. AS Capcom said, the cube version has not only better textures, it pushes more polygons as well
Sorry I've just found out that this was a rumour which was later debunked by Capcom...pixelbox said:when did they say that?

Yes, they are blurry. The pics were meant to show the arms. I could make them even blurrier and one (not you) could see the difference. Did you see the arms in the Cubeversion below the PS2-version in the first pic? Have you played the Game? No "kind of" difference?london-boy said:Am i supposed to see some kind of a difference? They're both so blurry and fuzzy it hurts my eyes. And both have very visible polygonal edges, whatever counts you make up.
I say, bring on the next gen cause this one is done. Comparing a blurry mess with another blurry mess is hardly constructive.
RE4 was always about the art direction, never about the technical merits per se. Both consoles have showed they can output much more polygons or textures or particles than RE4. This game looks good because a lot of thought was put into the direction, the design, the atmosphere.

I'm not a Gamecube******. (I'll buy the PS2-Version)
And i didn't say the Cube could output this or that better, or that RE4 is the bestlooking game. This was just for forumusers who want to see camparisons in a comparisonthread.
(I also have a few pics with both versions of the lavaroom. If anyone else is interested)
Oh, I'm sorry.london-boy said:Yeah i get that. What about the arms?! They're both so low-poly it's painful. Or are you saying the arm in the GCN version has more polys than the PS2 version?
The PS2 version does push for some reason less polys (as if it's a hardware problem and not Capcom's own doing), but you definately can't use that "arm" to prove your point cause the GCN arm is just as low poly.

The last two pics are both PS2. (You thought the last pic is Cube?) I thought that was obvious. Those are two pictures from a series of PS2 pics. Only the bottom pics in the two doublescreens are Gamecube. (complicated crap!)
Sure.PC-Engine said:Oh btw Tab23 can you post the comparison pics of the Lava scene if you don't mind?
What plug-in does that thing need?Tab23 said:Video comparison by eelw:

I use mediaplayer classic (Quicktime alternative).Kaotik said:What plug-in does that thing need?
I get only one video, bottom half of the video is white all the time?
And quicktime complained something about needing something which isn't available on quicktime servers
all the framebuffer effetcts from the GC version (that includes the lava heat shimmering etc) should be matched, if not surpassed on the ps2
