What we know so far:
-Sony to announce slim PS3 next month or TGS, released by September
-PS3 will get a price drop, phat or slim, a drop is coming
-PSeye+ development is coming along very well, next summer to be retailed
-MS will make a big push for Natal, signs point to a "new" Xbox+ with bundled natal and some specs upgrade(higher resolution forward compatible?)
-Natal appears to lag being PSeye+ development
-Motion technology is the next big thing for casual market
As above, must Sony be forced to introduce the PS3 slim this year? I think it will be better to just drop the phat PS3 to $299 80GB SKU and hold back the slim PS3 bundled with PSeye+ next year when the economy picks up. Selling a slim PS3 might give the PS3 brand an instant reboot but the timing and duration seems too abrupt for long term effectiveness. How will Sony combat the Natal marketing hype? We know MS Xbox division is very good at hyping in the western markets.
