They're spending 13 billion dollars a year for sales and marketing.I'm amazed X360 is doing as well as it does going against that sort of feeling.

Sports Championship has the same problem as Natal's flailing game. It doesn't look fun (enough).
Compared to Wii Sports Resort, it looks like a chore. Player vs player seems awkward, but player vs PS3 looks more natural because the AI opponent is a much better attacker. More polishing may be needed to make things fun and compelling.
Also, the avatars in Wii Sports are more compelling than the in-game characters.

The response from the guys playing though is generally very positive (it helps of course if you know German ). They're saying it seems to work better than Motion+, and some of the things that are the least fun for us to watch (like the Volleyball), they actually highlight as a lot of fun. They particularly liked the stuff where you use two moves at the same time. Also interesting to point out that while perhaps for us the 'Play' stuff looks more fun (and they liked how well the 3D tracking was for the tennis racket in terms of graphics), they preferred to play the sports stuff.
The right amount of muscle fatigue is actually a very satisfying sensation. I suppose I speak for a larger group of "geeks" when I say that physical exhaustion is something I rarely experienced in my upbringing, and when I did it usually was in the context of great frustration (competing on the race track etc with more physically fit kids). But I played Wii Sports Boxing three times a week for over a year, just to experience that certain amount of fatigue that I otherwise can't get in such a convenient way, in my living room, in any weather, at any time of the day.Hmm... interesting. Perhaps this is what Dr. Marks meant by “somatic gratification” in one of his interviews ?
In a commercial/infomercial that is what should happen, yes. But reality should always be expected to be less than perfect, even hilariously so at times. The deal is embarrassment is a highly contextual thing, and if you know the people hopping around, you probably will not take issue, no matter what happens.patsu said:There is no reason why they can't look and play fun at the same time though.
Too bad I don't understand german very well, I've been watching the first seconds when they compare the Wiimote and Move but I will take a look at the video later, it's loading very slowly.30 minutes of Move (Sports Championship and Party):

I find Natal quite ugly as a name. I rather prefer Oculus -though it sounds like a Harry Potter spell, Oculus Pocus- or Wave.New rumor natal going to be named OCULUS.
Sounds more plausible then wave oculus is Latin word for eye still think natal is better name.

I agree, Natal sounds better. MS is sorta on a "winning streak" of terrible names. I mean 'cmon, Bing, Kin?New rumor natal going to be named OCULUS.

Oh my gosh, the video is pure awesomeness. I loved it in general, very original.I'm pretty sure more than 90% of people barely know Natal and Move exist at this point.
Unrelated, but on GAF someone pointed to this video. It's someone who managed to replicate Move functionality on the PC. He has some interesting stuff in there.
There's a game with a simple kind of speech recognition, and they say their names. The girls speak spanish with a spaniard accent.10 minutes of Move gameplay (by 2 eh... housewives ?)
The game looks like Sports Championship.
Im wondering if the new hardware rumours could be PS3D. Basically a beefed up PS3 that would play all 3D games at full res and without comprimises from the 2D version. Possibly also allowing higher res, better aa/af and higher framerates on 2D only games. Not a new console launch just a new high end PS3 sku. Doubt it will happen but i would buy one
How does it splinter your market?
Not sure the same reason i think people talk about how a 360 with bluray player would splinter the market. You just know that devs are going to tap into that extra power.
Kinect is in...
And Sony can simply refuse to allow it.
