Yikes! I thought KZ2 would do a lot better. Not bad numbers for Halo Wars though, better than I expected given some of its review scores.

Wow at RE5. Didn't realize it was that big here. I'm sure if you count the Elite bundles it's 1mil on the 360 alone! KZ2 and Halo Wars around the same sales but Halo Wars had less days. It'll be interesting to see where each one ends up next month.

Did March include PS2 price cut? If so, didn't do anything.
Decent 360 numbers
PS3 got no boost from KZ2 it'd seem

Nicely done Capcom.

Killzone... :/ Hope it sold better overseas... That looks rather... demoralizing.

It's about what I expected for console sales.

I guess I was off on expecting KZ2 hitting a combine 1M as it appears to be a total 619K since launch. It does have pretty close sales from the previous month of 323K vs 296K this past month. It would be interesting to see if the titles charts close to this month during the next NPD.

I'm surprised that Halo Wars outsold KZ2 in one month although I thought that both titles would've done better.

It also looks like all 3 manufacturers are evenly represented in the Top 10. 3 PS3, 3 X360 and 4 Wii titles.

It did about what I thought it would do, if not better. I was expecting KZ2 to sell about the same amount as it did in Feb. NPD. But overall, I expected KZ2 to sell more than it did so far.

edit: Good numbers for The Show, at least better than I thought.
And wow at RE5. Capcom's having a good year.

Thes industry is stagnating on both hardware and software fronts (respectively -18% and -17% when compared to March 08). That's the first time in a looong time, not good news at all, hopefully things will go back to their normal growth next month.

Capcom and Nintendo must be happy, though.

It's probably not too fair to compare the two NPD monthly data here considering KZ2 was at the butt-end of February (Feb27). Counting the figures from both months seems fair IMO for the game, but ultimately 620K seems decent, but not spectacular. Hope it was worth it...

Not really a fair comparison. Halo Wars was released March 3rd IIRC, and KZ2 was released Feb. 27th. So only 4 days separating them.

You guys are all surprised at the KZ numbers but it was already known through a couple reports recently, one that it had reached 500k, and another that it had shipped 600k to date in NA. It was easy to extrapolate the sales from those in fact I expected it to be closer to 200k than 300.

Other thoughts:

Good RE5 sales. Did better relative on 360 than SF4. Capcom does well two months in a row can Bionic Commando continue their winning ways?

The baseball games, I wasnt really expecting.

Halo Wars outsold KZ2 (adding in the two days from last NPD to KZ2 to make it more fair).

Hardware all down, I assume because Feb is a big tax return month.

Wii slides, something I was on careful watch for..something fairly inconclusive but could be evidence of a beginning Wii downturn after supply finally meeting demand last month.

Slightly low PS3 hardware.

True, I didn't realize it was only separated by a few days. It seemed like KZ2 has been out for a long time compared to Halo Wars.

Still I thought both titles would have done better total sales. I really thought that KZ2 would be selling better judging by the response on a lot of message boards. I remember reading a comment on a message board saying that they find it weird that 3rd party mulitplatform fps games are selling better than the exclusive fps games on PS3. It appears to be the opposite for the X360.

I'm also quite surprised that Madworld and SF4 didn't chart.

mm... LTD, it does not seem likely that SFIV sold more than 1.2 million (at best) on both platforms. (850K in launch month, at best they'd sell 200K on both platforms in March, just outside the top 10). Could be worse of course, still not bad for a versus fighter I would think.

I quite enjoy the game although I get owned by RobertR1 when I play him online. I'm about even with my friend in Hawaii.

The game needs an on-line tournament feature to allow for more than 2 player matches.

Looking at the chart again: The PSP outsold the PS3? Is that the norm?
