The number of ROPs would seem to be one of the reasons for the improved game performance of Navi. Reducing ROP capabilities would also be detrimental to providing good performance as the target resolution for the next gen consoles will be 4k (by whatever means, but still).
You'll still be left with 64ROPs (4SEs-16 each) but yeah point taken
7nm EUV seems more and more likely for nextgen so even with 128ROPs we are looking at ~370mm2 after factoring in design rules that prioritizes density over clock speed you mentioned

13E9 = Navi 10 Lite according to ChipHell post before all leaks. https://www.chiphell.com/thread-1945910-1-1.html

Actually according to the chiphell link 13E9 is "Navi Lite" only. Do we have another source for 13E9 being Navi 10 Lite ?

Someone made interesting comment about 4 digit number behind 2G being specific for each manufacturer.

For Sony it seems to go from :

1000 PS4
1100 PS4 slim
1200 PS4 Pro
1300 PS4 Pro
1400 ? Perhaps super slim?
1500 ? Perhaps super slim?
1600 Gonzalo

Doesn't "Lite" indicated a cut down version of the same chip? ie. 5700 vs 5700XT?

Or Lite could mean without Hardware RayTracing, which means everything until next year, say April 2020ish?

If Gonzalo was in QS and ID was changed to 13f8 from ES1, I would go with what Apisak thought, dev kit chip. I do think it would mean that final hardware would be locked in by early 2020.

MS showed their chip as well so Im thinking Apple 7nm node "takeover" means these two have to wait for a bit till they get enough wafers for full production as Apple should switch to 5nm and TSMC will have 7nm at full pelt.

Are the RX 5700 and RX 5700XT GPUs chips "Lite," since there in no RT logic onboard?

Dont know, since they're not for the console space which was planned to have RT, so could be?

Hmm..yes maybe? I have been thinking that Navi Lite=Navi 10 series=RDNA 1=Hybrid RDNA/GCN
and full RDNA=RDNA 2=Navi 20 series (Including RT). On the other hand maybe thats basically what you say..

But then there's the NAND crash from a 13 minute power outage for WD and Toshiba, who are around 25% of the market. So prices could/might raise from that.
