Sorry if it is OT but aren't you eligible for Free Super Saver Delivery?

There was next-day, 1st class and the free 3-5 days. I picked 1st class to save a few £ over next-day. 1st class is supposed to be next working day but often isn't. I can just change delivery options without getting bumped down the queue, right?

With new console hype slowly creeping up, I'll be more disappointed than I should be if it doesn't turn up on launch day.

I ordered from GameStop but wish I would have trusted the dashboard order to show up on time.

Would prefer to wake up launch day to UPS guy rather than fight the crowd

I went with MS. I'm assuming they won't fail to live up to their own preorders, but crazier things have happened. Can't remember what the shipping terms were. I'm not expecting it to be at my doorstep on launch day, but hopefully within 3-5 business days.

You sure that is MS? Thought it was Digital River was handling that and it doesnt have that great of reviews.

Why do think amazon is actively trying to deceive you? Do you think all their sales data is random or manipulated?

I never said they were trying to deceive me. I just don't believe their data is anything remotely close to an accurate picture of overall sales figures.

Yeah you can still change delivery method and should not get down in the queue.
AFAIK Amazon gives priority based on pre-order date no delivery method so older orders should be dispatched first.

Marc Whitten to IGN:

“Our vision is that every person can be a creator. That every Xbox One can be used for development. That every game and experience can take advantage of all of the features of Xbox One and Xbox Live. This means self-publishing. This means Kinect, the cloud, achievements. This means great discoverability on Xbox Live. We'll have more details on the program and the timeline at Gamescom in August.”

I look forward to tons of incredibly naff Kinect games. The Zen Meditation heart rate trainer, Learn correct box lifting technique and Better Posture excersises (stand up straight). 50p each.

Its not. These changes were in the works from prior to e3.

It's a recent change. From a developer posting on gaf:

A few months ago this was not being planned by them internally, and they explicitly said it wasn't going to be possible (and that was the clear message behind closed doors). There were even factions within Microsoft aware of the stupidity of the situation who were proactively looking for loopholes to effectively allow self publishing in a practical sense even if it wasn't technically the case.

This is a change in policy and strategy from earlier in the year, and the fact it isn't going to be ready at launch is evidence that this change is recent.

so what is so different about this versus the old xblig anyway?

people blast ms for indy policy, when last gen ironically they were the only one with an indie store (and i didn't see them ever get any media credit for it)

Edit: I guess to answer my own question regarding that (Kotaku)

"My goal is for it to just show up in the marketplace," he told us. "Of course there will be different pivots inside of that. There will be everything from what are we curating, kind of like spotlight content, to the normal discoverability stuff like recommendations, what's trending, what's got a lot of engagement on the platform. And you'd be able to find that content in any of those. There wouldn't be any difference based on what type of game it was. Then of course there will be other type of pivots where you can go and look at whether its a genre of game or any other. But you shouldn't think of it as there's an indie area and a non-indie area."

Whitten elaborated on ways you can sift through these games:

"Just as today, where we will highlight things that are coming in on the service, we want to make that more discoverable. We'll make it things that we curate as well as the other ways that you find content whether that's what your friends are doing or what we recommend based on your play behavior. Or top listings. We want to make sure we have all of those types of discoverability mechanisms."

It seems like the main difference is not sectioning indies off I guess. All one big pool now.

That's what I expected and it's really great that they confirmed it wasn't true.

A Kinect-less Xbox One makes no sense at all. I don't actively use Kinect 1 for the X360 but it's always there, connected and ready to use, and I use it every time to chat with my friends.

I couldn't imagine nor understand the Xbox 360 without Kinect either, but it's a much more important part of the experience on the Xbox One.

Besides that, certain parts of SHAPE are meant for Kinect. They could remove the CPUs on SHAPE too then, and we would have a nice chassis and a paperweight. Sigh... :???:

I really hope they remove kinect. I do not see a single thing i would miss with any of the AAA launch games.

It is pretty much a paper weight already. If you like the fast switching using voice you could just use any mic for that to work.

If kinect is that important they should show us why we need it. Most gamer do not want it at all because it useless and doesnt work right.
