If the XB1 came with 2 HD 8990 and an 8 core i7 but only played Halo Kart, Super Spartan Bros and a bunch of HD versions of Apple like game apps because it had no third party support, I doubt you would any happier than you are now about the XB1.
A hardware performance advantage bore MS a distant 2nd place and 25 million consoles while parity with the PS3 bore MS 75 million in console sales. All the while the PS2 managed 150 million with lesser hardware against its competitors. Why? Because the library is far more important than the hardware. Does that mean that ipad like hardware can compete in the hardware space? Probably not. But the XB1 isn't offering ipad like performance and both the PS4 or XB1 provide a performance level that can easily be out done with a few hundred dollars of investment into a PC. You don't console game for the hardware performance, you console game for the library.
If the XB1 shows off a bunch exclusive titles, you find compelling, that have far better IQ than the 360 titles you are playing on now then why is that not enough? If you really like and have a lot of loyalty to Nissan while spending your last 5 years driving around in a Maxima then why should a better spec competitor keep you from potentially enjoying a GT-R?
Whats the point of being angry about it. The 360 will still be around next year. And you can simply tape a XB1 logo on your PS4 and then turn your 360 and watch the XBOX logo screen and let melody play before you hit input and switch over to your PS4 title. You get the XB1 you always wanted with an extra button push and $10 dollars in stickers.
Power isn't everything for me, I am with you there. There is no way I am going to have a machine with two HD 8990 GPUs.
There are electricity bills to pay.
You need to look at the whole entire current generation. I have had an Xbox 360, which was a really capable machine, for almost 8 year now.
I had accepted the much greater efficiency of the new PS4 and Xbone as win win, that's why I was okay with the specs in both.
And if I had to say what's my favourite PC card it would be the Bonaire 7790 HD from AMD, because it's cheap and smart. I don't fancy Titan to be honest.
The problem is not just the negative elements that unfortunately exist within it, to achieve a better understanding of what Microsof's marketing department is about.
The problem is that it feels like they have been *playing* with people when we had pretty much accepted that the Xbone was an average machine with some interesting characteristics -SHAPE, DMEs, etc-. I fancied it, A LOT!
So the software is secondary for me in this case, I liked the machine as it was. Now if this was true -I am not so sure-.... I can't stand it. No amount of software is going to change the perceptions for me.
This forum is an oasis of peace, but others aren't. I remained silent dealing with fanboys' lies and continuous backlash, working as marketing PRs for a company which is never going to pay them, that coming here make things better.
They get so hung up on the "right thing to do," that is, trying so hard to attack the Xbox One, they have to rag on those who want it and mock, and tease every single day.
After dealing with this as calmly as I could, after all the money I spent on the platform and some disappointments, this one is just too much for some people to handle. --take a look at what
