MGS4 Trailer (3 new minutes)

To be fair, I dont think the camera shaked at all. It was the camera in the trailer that moved around.

It has nothing to do with how steady the filmer's hand is, more to do with the fact it looks like it was displayed on a screen that resembles 16, and I counted, televisions.

That's because it was. It was a multiscreen video wall. Filming it on a professional cinematic camera wouldn't have solved that problem! The biggest problem with handycams is always the naff video quality and contrast that throughs the dark elements into blackness. In this case for checking out the animation it does it's job, and the direct screenshots show the visual fidelity.

i think the trailer looked better than those screenshots posted...

my favorite part was when the droids or what not started kicking people

will definitely be picking this up, but hopefully its more game play than cutscenes in the actual game (mgs3 was little play with an abundance of cutscenes, imo)

With each trailer the engine seems to get notably better. It's really had to believe for me that this quality will be gameplay next year but I got no reason to doubt Kojima.

Thank you!:)

Nice trailer again from Kojima, it's kind of funny that other developers release maybe one or two short trailers and then Kojima releases these epic MGS-trailers that have insane depth and attention to small details, sometimes I get the feeling that they are on a league of their own, I mean that incredible talent is clearly seen again on these trailers (this one and the 15 minute one)

Somehow I have never really been sucked into playing these games though, it probably has to do with the fact that I don't like to play games where I have to sneak, I like good stories though, but I hate sneaking and alarms etc...:) Even if don't play this game, I must give a big hand to the makers of this anyway! Looks absolutely stunning!

metal gear series aren't exactly full blown stealth games , you always have a choice to go Rambo on the enemy.

LOL. What particles ? You guys always have better eyes than me. I was paying attention to the legs most of the time.

I think he's talking about the layers of desert dust and various debris blowing around in the wind. I suppose its not a major technical feat or anything, and its pretty subtle, but I think it adds a lot to the overall ambience of the scene. Makes the gameworld seem that much more alive and atmospheric. The debris especially is very realistic in how it gets "caught" in the wind.

COWs, I mean, really, MUUUU...

Ok, I think everybody agreeds that the game looks good.

But those two legged biomechs..

Nobody seems to care that those mech sounds like cows!? Ok thats fine when you get use to it but in the end of the video one cow makes a "muu" sound again and makes "scrap" and them every another biomechs does the "chorus scrap".

Anyone else did't laugh at that point? :?:

early 2007 IS just 2 years....

blakjedi, learn to calculate dude

Fine... IF they release in November 2007, AND they started development in January 2005 which is unclear, THAT will have been 2 Years 10 months worth of dev time...

Better?

Actually I thought they sounded just like the tripods on Spielberg's War of the Worlds. And that in my book is a really, really good sound :)

Downgrade in textures?! From E3?! Remembering the pixelated lumps some of those textures were I don't think a downgrade is even possible!

The one thing I really enjoy about this game is it actually takes the levels of realism to a serious plane. Most video game producers would completely stray away from the entire middle eastern conflict, and make some nonsensical nation the enemy, like Columbia (*cough cough* Soldier of Fortune 2*cough cough*)

Good for Kojima.

Curious, what's the story?

I have no idea what the plot is, but you can tell instantaneously that there's some sort of war waging between whatever military force and a middle eastern coalition. Not necessarily America vs. Iraq, but the entire underlying premise seems a boatload more realistic than other games.
