Yeah that's what I suspect too because it fits current MGS "framework" most naturally. I was hoping for some breakthrough in gameplay since there is "no where to hide" in this instalment.Realtime cutscene...?
Sheeet After three + years of development... and still just trailers to date, it needs to look that good while playing it. 07 will be the real battle for next gen!
Even in the trailers, MGS has always been realtime.I know i'll create a monster but i have to mention it....

That's seeming most plausible. Often games are showcased with cutscenes rather than actually player running around playing, for several reasons. Maybe the animation system and NPC behaviour is built arond the same engine in game, but with much more limited interactivity, so you don't spontaneously get characters patting each other on the shoulder, dragging them into cover, or whatnot?Realtime cutscene...?
Interesting you bring up the pat on the shoulder bit, this wasnt the first time we have seen kojima do that in a mgs4 trailer. IIRC the first mgs4 showing did it in first person view. Not that it means anything, just saying its interesting hes taken the time to do it more than once.so you don't spontaneously get characters patting each other on the shoulder
Clearly an impressive trailer but i really wished we would get a glimpse of actual gameplay. Are we supposed to see something at TGS?

05, 06, 07... will be three years...
As cool as the video was, it should be illegal to release shaky cam footage.
