Too big contrast.
Hey. Who did Microsoft hire for advertising??
you attacking unfinished games acting like this is what the games will look like at launch and claiming that showing cgi and lieing to customers would be better .JVD can't you understand that no one is attacking the XB360 HW itself or the specs, but MS's botched event?
Right and the xenon has made a bigger leap with fsaa and advanced filteringPS1/N64 -> DC/PS2 there was 2-4x jump in screen resolution and 2-4x jump in color resolution, along with increase in internal precision of the new rasterizers.
There was no real FSAA but those factors alone were a big jump in IQ - there's a reason why people were going gaga over PS2 techdemos - and they were an aliased, lowres mess(all of them, without exception) compared to modern PS2 games.
Virtual fighter 3 for the dreamcast . First few screens on dev kits looked awful . The game released and looked really good .Yes, I know there is 5 months left. But here is why we are skeptical. First, you cannot just change things overnight. I have never seen a game make a complete make over in 5 months.
Do we have actual proof of this ? Watching the footage on the mtv special the game was running smooth and some people are saying its smooth on the other hand ign is saying its not .The next problem is PDZ is running at 20fps.
Do you think PDZ looks good (compared to current gen *and* when compared to the other titles like Gears of War, GR3, Condemned... I want to hear your thoughts on both), or are you optimistic it will get a LOT better in 5 months?
Geeforcer said:jvd, you are missing the point. Whether the game was finished, unfinished or not even started is irrelevant. The goal of the infomercial was to impress people with next-generation graphics.
Mission not accomplished.

I dissagree .
It may not wow fanboys on forums . But i think alot of people will be preordering the x360 in the comic days . Alot of people from which this special was targeting .
jvd said:perhaps . I've already heard from other people that don't post on here (Friends from class , work , famly ) that they thought it was cool and are thinking about getting one .
if you like tech demos which we never seen in game then yea i will agree
Tekken 3 psone looked better than tekken 3 tag on ps2 japan launch
But will it be enough if Nintendo and Sony come with much more impressive showing at E3. It doesn't matter whether they show actual gameplay footage or concept prerenders, but people already have sampled what actual, playable xbox360 game looks like, and I think it is not good for xbox360 and Microsoft in hype point-of-view.
Well people told me they wanted to see more games too. Who wouldn't ? There will be 30 games by the end of the year at least . To me thats really good . They didn't drive that home but there is e3 and this was a 24 min show on mtv .am reading a thread on one of the NFL message boards right now, with general reaction being "lame" "why didn't they show more games" and "the killers suck". Not quite as scientifically accurate as comprehensive jvd friends and family survey, but still. BTW, how many casual viewers (read: people generally not interested in video games) have been watching Xbox special?
Haven't seen anything that surpased the ballroom ff scenePS2 out perform the tech demos shown before launch. In fact, the tech demos don’t even look as good now compared to the better looking games available. A quick example: they showed a GT tech demo. ALL GT games that appeared on PS2 looked better than that demo.
Na only 2 beers in me and btw the diffrence between the games are night and day .tell me you’re drunk…
and for those who want to know the difference between the Jap and US versions of Tekken, it wasn’t much; frame rate, progressive scan, and that’s about it.
They may have got it to render with a full-size display buffer, but it certainly didn't output proscan.and for those who want to know the difference between the Jap and US versions of Tekken, it wasn’t much; frame rate, progressive scan,
