Mass Effect 3

Got it :D
Letssee, a paragon infiltrator and a renegade soldier, plus a female sentinel stuck after the collector ship at level 18, but all with a complete ME1-2 history... Now where will I find the time to complete the game with ALL of them?...

Ha! I've got three characters (mix of all the possible backgrounds for shepard). Two fem, 1 male, all lvl 30 from ME2, which does carry over to ME3 btw. One of them might be a new profile from ME2, but the other two for sure are carried over from the first game. The import launcher seems less ambiguous in ME3 from what I recall of ME2's importer.

Going to try to pick up ME3 for the PS3 today. Only report I've seen on the frame rate for the retail release seems to indicate it's comparable to the demo, but Eurogamer hasn't spoken up yet. ;-/

It'll likely be a little while to put it together, but DF does have it in the pipe.

Yeah, also, I hear how cool the vanguard is, so I may have to get one for at least ME2. ME1 seems to be a pretty hard one to play through again, especially without charge and with all the annoying gameplay mechanics - but I think we can re-train any imported character in ME2, right? Guess I'll try to convert the renegade soldier one... sometime... maybe next year... ;)

Oh and I'll try to get Live sometime next week, so we can boost some Galactic Readiness together..

Sooo this isn't true?...

Sorry, I'm still finishing up my ME2 play through so I haven't even started ME3 yet.

I imported from Mass Effect 1 to Mass Effect 2 and now Mass Effect 3 and my character's face transferred fine. So, I don't really get what that post is all about. The only thing I can think of is that I did tweak my characters face in Mass Effect 2 a bit, and maybe that's what made it work when I imported to 3?

Playing as a Vanguard still. Seems pretty much the same as Mass Effect 2, but there's one other new power I haven't put any points into.

I'm hoping to have the game finished by then to satisfy my serious addiction, so I'll be ready for MP by then, if there's a spot open in a B3D group.

Probably. My Shep's face didn't import at all, so I went with the default femshep face this game, she's reasonably cute and has freckles, but that flyaway hair over her right eye is driving me nuts. I justify it with the reasoning that she was beached for a while and so grew her hair out. I wish you could choose the default femshep and modify her from there, but you can't as far as I could tell.

hm... you should be fine if you opted to customize your face at the start. It doesn't reset the face, so it's more for just making tweaks. A face code is generated that way. I think the problem is that importing from ME1 with no changes does not generate a face code.

Btw, it seems there's a bunch of ship models hidden around the ship (to be used for display in your cabin). Not sure if that's supposed to be representative of your ME2 character having bought all of them - they're all missing when you go up to your cabin in ME3.

Both you and Al made tweaks in ME2, so that might be it. I wish I made tweaks to my imported character in ME2, a strand of hair clips into her forehead now and it bugs the heck out of me during every cut-scene lol

I imported from ME1 with no changes, so I'm guess I won't have a face code. Eh, I'll find out when the time comes.

Why don't you try the demo? Though I'm not sure there's nearly as many folks playing that now.

Didn't realize there is a co-op demo. ^_^

EDIT: Wait a minute, there is a full game ME3 trial for PS+ members too.

Welp, downloading now...
First time trying the full game trial thinggie.

EDIT 2: 14Gb demo... Good thing I'm downloading this game from the corporate network. :)

Are you on xbox360? (There is a hack of Gibbed's savegame editor for it.)

hmph... with all these sidequests and priority missions I don't know what to do next just in case it's "too late" to do something. :| It's like trying to save the Normandy Crew in ME2 - you have that anonymous "timer" or mission counter I suppose. *sigh*

Yeah, the demo that came out included both SP and MP. The MP portion unlocked a few days later, but I guess it's a moot point now that you've got your trial version. ;)

Feels so good to be back on the Normandy and visiting the Citadel again. But the war feels very real and depressing, too.

Also, Mars reminded me of the Doom 3 levels for some reason ;) expected a Hell Knight to appear at every corner.

So, they took out the Film Grain effect in ME3. Is there an easy way to add it back using an FXAA injector?

The film grain was significantly reduced in ME2 already. I'm surprised everyone acts as if it was as strong as in ME1.

Yes I finally have the game. I was hoping it would have arrived yesterday, but no. Thankfully I was able to use the paragon option at my local post office to get my mail before the mail man left his rounds :)

Installing.

From what I can tell, Disc 1 is basically the main story missions, and Disc 2 covers all the side quests. I haven't really done that much disc switching since I've been doing as many sidequests as possible before moving on...
