Last of Us [PS4]

Jeez, survivor mode is tough. Almost no crafting items, ammunition or melee weapons at all. No listen mode either, but that hasn't posed much of a problem so far. Probably the worst thing are the upgraded runners. Just like the clickers, those fuckers hear just about everything now. Sneaking up to them becomes a royal pain in the rear.
Really tense and rewarding, though.

14 hours - 10% to go on hard.

I'm really running low on ammo. Hopefully the last part of the game wont be to hard.

Infected combat is probably the biggest change on the highest difficulty level. It's damn near impossible to avoid at times. Some parts are also just plain bullshit, like the section where you
have to escort Sam
. It's possible to sneak past everything in that stage, but when you try to shiv the Clicker ND has conveniently placed beneath the ladder to the exit, he'll just kill you no matter what. You're pretty much forced to kill everything in the level, even though the gameplay suggests otherwise. I have similar issues with the
highschool
level: you can make it all the way to the exit without getting noticed, but you cannot exit the level unless you kill the runners that spawn by the door. Not cool.

You're not in the spoilers thread, may I remind you? I'm at 42% ...

Anyway, can't you draw the runners away throwing a brick or other stuff?

You can. That's why I don't like it. If they just stood by the door, killing them would have made sense. Thing is, they actually don't stay there. They move deeper into the level all by themselves, basically clearing the way to the exit for you. You still have to kill them, even though it makes no sense at that point. The game clearly suggests that you have the option to avoid them, but you really don't. There are quite a few situations where the game pretty much forces you to waste resources, and I'm not really a fan of that.
It's a small issue, but it kinda stood out for me.

I understand what you mean. It's similar to the section in the demo level. The point there I guess is that you have to make it safe for your two companions to come over, who can then help you open the doorway. So there's at least a justification there, but it's gamey - I'd rather they'd have sticked to their guns and allow everyone to manage getting through all stealth.

Last part isn't hard at all. Just try to avoid combat as much as possible . Infected combat can be completely avoided in the last level.

3% to go. :D

Well, in the tunnel I avoided combat for the most part, however at the end (where u face 2 bloopers and some clickers) i just couldn't, however i took them down quite easily using a pair of molotov cocktails;).

Its easy to avoid them just don't push your left stick completely, keep it halfway while moving when crouched, they can't hear that. And jump onto trucks and move past them, its wierd, but they can't hear you jumping down from a teuck either. I even managed to get all supplies from inside the tunnel without alerting anyone ;) ! It seems difficult, but actually is very easy if u don't let the fear get to you.

Anyways, its good you foight some of them, as My flamethrower remained completely unused as I didn't fight any of them.

It didn't really bother me in the demo level because your companions didn't start to follow you around until the coast was clear. In the cases I've mentioned your companions never ever leave your side. I was ready to open the door, but when I pressed the triangle button, the nice husky fella next to me reminded me that we needed to get rid of the infected blocking our route first. Infected which were nowhere to be seen because I lured them far away from the door.

Sounds like a proximity glitch then.

Thankfully there aren't too many instances like that in the game. But I completely agree with you on those parts being bullshit.

wow you are BRAVE.

it scared me by a LOT. And i just keep throwing molotov and scissors bomb to them. And head-arrow all the clickers that not burned together with the bloopers. Took me countless restart with my dumb aiming :(

I did the same. At the end of that sequence I did fight against 2 bloaters, first time use for flamethrower. :D

Don't you want to spoiler tag your tactics ? :)

I used a molotov and a nail bomb to take care of everyone. Then arrowed the remaining bloater to death.
