I'm kinda mad at Microsoft right now

Don't blame MS, blame the scalpers :p BTW, any of you that couldn't get one in So Cal (LA area preferebly)?

I'm another one that got hosed by this launch. Worst. Day. Ever. I even called in sick. My biggest mistake was standing in line at Sears for nothing and not staying at Toys R Us when I was first in line.

A friend of mine waited at a Sears since 7AM only to find out they only had 6 systems. He said around 60 people were there and they ended up calling out ticket numbers they randomly handed out. They called out the last two numbers for the 2 Core systems they had and a guy won, but said "forget it, I want the other one" and people started screaming prices they would pay for his winning ticket. Then another group started saying that was bull**** and they needed to draw a different number not let him auction his ticket. I guess it was close to a riot before security came.

*BTW my friend didnt win one.

I'm kind of glad that there is a limited supply, if it wasn't for that I'd probably have spent the money. I realized, after not being able to get ahold of one, that I really didn't want one that bad and I only really wanted one because it was shiny and new (new toys!).

I'll probably get one later on (which is just as well, more games out then and maybe cheaper), but thanks to MS it won't be for a while. There are plenty of games I need to finish on PS2 and plenty of new games coming down the pipe.

I'll add to the pat on the back for a worldwide launch. It sucks if you were on top of the pile before and now it's been flattened. If you had to wait 1year+ you'd be bitching a little more, methinks.

MS can't win for losing.

Everybody bitches constantly they dont kiss Japan's butt enough.

Then the other half bitches constantly they kiss Japan's butt to much.

But anyway, 200k consoles would have made no difference.

The worldwide launch was the right call IMO.

Also, I got mine. I went to Wal Mart at 9:30 PM.

So I dont know what your strategy was, but it was lacking aparantly.

Also yeah a lot of people were complaining. But that's just because people hate MS, not anything they did.

So who cares? Didn't stop all those units from selling. If those people hate MS so much, by all means they were free to not buy one.

In other words.. You are one of the mere handfull of people in the entire country today who actually got an Xbox 360 before 2006. so... You dont give a rats *** about anyone elses problems it must be their own fault? And Microsoft is just fine by your standards becuase you got yours.... so get lost??

I dont hate M$.. but this crap has ticked me off. They are absolutly crazy. SCREW JAPAN. They could have sold a million units here in the USA *TODAY*. Instead they are going to completely miss the Christmas season here and likely lose a whole lot of sales when the PS3 hype machine hits full swing next fall.

Sending most stores in the USA 10-20 units is just plain ASSININE!!!

I stood in line at wal-mart starting a 2:00PM, was 13th in line, and found out around 7PM that they weren't receiving the premium systems they were expecting. By this time, there were about 60 people in line for the 24 core systems they had. A near riot insued. I left, and showed up at Target at 4AM. Was 39th in line and they only had 16 core and 16 premium. Went home sad, tired, and cold. Heard lots of stories worse than mine from my fellow line warriors. Congrats to the lucky ones.

So what do you think the solution is?

As someone who lives outside the US, you're selfish.

I see what they're saying though.

I probably could have easily missed out if I just didn't pick the right Wal Mart, even. The Wal Mart I got my accesories (different Wal Mart) at said they got zero premium paks. (Dont know how many core they got.) Then again that's a rinky dink Wal Mart.

And I can empathise - honestly, I can. But to have someone posting "SCREW JAPAN", it's juvenille and selfish.

I'm in Australia. Know when I can buy an Xbox 360? March 2006. Did I post, "SCREW AMERICA?" No. You know what I did? I started a thread where like-minded people can share their thoughts. Getting angry never helped anyone.

No he is probably right, solidifying your control over a large player base would be a sensible idea, their scatter shot plan may indeed pay off if it builds hype and stops people from purchasing the PS3, or in the short term the PS2, DS, PSP or perhaps someother expensive toy. The UK for example is likely going to be upset if the number of X360 complains keep up, we are used to pretty much perfect hardware, perfect games etc... first launch is nice however if its not up to the normal spec people will complain. I don't mind waiting normally, its nice to get a world wide release however the number of units truly is low, waiting another month and having a strong Christmas launch would likely have satisfied more people.

Traditionally you attempt to build a large user base in an area because there is no internet, players only really communicate in person so if only 4 people in your town have a console you aren't going to be having system linked games. However Live combats that to some extent.

The real question will be how will support be sustained up until Christamas and how early will PS3 launch, if Sony pull of a good marketing campagin MS not having a strong user base in any one area may kick them in the teeth, especailly if Sony can world Launch with a strong number of consoles (1.5,1,1.5 US, EU, JPN?).

I showed up at the store at 11:50 PM last night and was the first to walk out of the store with my system. I had it home by 12:10 AM.

It pays to preorder as early as possible.

Heh, a family member of mine was told he wouldn't get his pre-ordered x360 till dec cause those who payed in full were moved ahead in the list  . Thankfully the local compusa got an outrageous number of x360s(supposedly 120 only like 10 were "retard" ), were gonna give out the first 80 the first day, first come first serve. The other ones 10 per day for some bizzare reason.

I got the one I pre'd back in May, and I got my other one today from CompUSA.
Whats the old adage about failing to prepare...

I read somewhere that the more accessories and games you bought with your xbox360 the higher up the preorder list you were moved.
Pretty screwed if that's true.
