Has the console forum been axed?

You seem, this is precisely the kind of posting that eventually resulted in the Console Talk forum being locked. Utterly pointless reply, providing nothing useful to the discussion; all it serves is to potentially lead the thread off-topic and/or start a tiresome sequence of tit-for-tat arguing.dukmahsik said:

Thats the thing....I wasn't going to respond to it...but some people are WAY to pridefull to let it go (I get frustrated enough in a ChatRoom argument on how slow it is, on a forum i'll probably go insane). But I guess if someone replies to your post like that either let it go or let them know that it was a dumb reply that contributed nothing...at least add something to the conversation.

There was far too much by way of narky comments recently, which is par for the course whenever people get together. People always trying to look bigger/smarter/better, always wanting the last word and the like. Often threads get derailed by two or more parties first disagreeing on a relevant point, than disagreeing on sources of info, then arguing spinoffs and adding insults. I've seen on many an ocassion someone's argument very logically refuted, but rather than reply 'okay, I see I was wrong' they pick up something else like a grammatical error that has nothing to with the debate and start belittling their 'rival' over that.
B3D is far less immature in that way then every other forum, and it's the first public debating place I've actually seen people admit to being wrong and pleased to be corrected. Unfortunately that's not the most common behaviour and was becoming less-so. The number of 'this guy is xxx from this other forum...known fanboi...great big &*£%$' replies we've been seeing are painful indication of 'conventional forum culture' being brought in with new blood but old rivalries.
Personally I'd rather learn I'm wrong then never be defeated in an argument. I know I'm only human and have limited experiences and finite knowledge, no-one's right all the time on everything. and there's plenty smarter people in the world then me. Gimme somewhere to think and learn without the more fractious elements

that's it in a nutshell. a lot of posters lately will NEVER relinquish a point to another poster. They will argue their opinion to the bitter end, rather than compromise.
shame really.
It's not life or death which console is perceived to be better, it's actually hilarious how seriously some people take it to the point of not being able to admit that they might be wrong or that another point of view might have value.
If some of the posters would adopt a less fierce, more friendly attitude, maybe some good convos could ensue.

This is borderline offensive from B3D staff. Shutting down console forum was already really bad from my point of view, but not giving any official explanation or announcement (or have I missed something?) is just plain rude.
Ban the trolls, make the forum a closed, invite-only place, whatever. It can't be that hard to solve. Like many have said, the console forum was easily the most interesting piece of B3D...

Don't insult the staff as that does nothing good. The best way to find an answer is probably to get someone like nAo to send a nice pm to Dave to find out the answer. It is no use for all of us to send one because that would be equivelent to spamming him and make it less likely to be red.
As I stated before I'm surprised there is still no official word about it, but don't insult B3D staff guys, they're not dumb.
There's no need to send any pm, probably we'll know soon what's happening.
Even if a consoles related forum will not be reopened we're free to move to other forums or even to create a new forum from scratch.

I believe the console forum should be locked. Dave , sonic , myself , and the rest of the beyond3d mods should sit down and talk for a bit about who needs to go .
Archive the old forum and put it at the bottom of the site with the other locked forum .Then restart console talk in two sections . Technical and games . Then finaly add more mods .
