Has the console forum been axed?

There's actually some news, or at least a lot of announcements out of Tokyo.
And I'm sure in the next couple of months, there was going to be a lot of info. released in the run up to the X360 launch.
IIRC, the Console forum seemed to be as active as any other at the site.

Yeah...as was stated already..the timing is PERFECT. Theres going to be information coming out of Tokyo about allot of things. TGS is almost here and there going to be events abroad....this sucks.
This forum was still the best general console-tech forum on the net, even after the horde of trolls. Lately there has been an influx of trolls that the mods have tried to keep up with.
However, the admins still haven't manned up requiring ban-rights so that they can do their job.
So, I just hope Dave mans up and gives moderators the right to ban.
The result will be that the consoleforum finally is mature.

I can't say I blame 'em at all, the CF was getting pretty horrendous lately.

its a real shame it came to this point where it had to be closed.
I found it was one of few places where you could have an intelligent conversation over the next gen consoles without hell breaking loose, but then it didnt last in the end.....
I like reading these forums as their are a lot of good people who know their stuff and I hope to continue reading over the years to come.

Since I came here last year I could get away with searching a good console forum, does anyone know any nice replacement for Console Talk in other places? TIA

Yeah..lately it was plagued by trolls but that problem could be fixed.
Oddly enough I feel pretty much the same way. I used to pretty much ignore the console forum and stick primarily with the 3D technology and hardware forum. I'd say in the last year I've probably posted 2/3rds in the console forum now. The discussions revolving around the next gen consoles tend to be a lot more interesting than the discussions of the next gen videocards. Part of that is probably because the G70 really isn't that interesting, and from the sounds of it neither is the R520. The next generation may end up bringing a lot more suprises, but they will probably be pretty similar to what we are seeing in the XGPU and RSX.
Really, the console forum lately has been a lot more cutting edge. Perhaps that is why Dave has been taking an interest in it lately?

PsiNext.com is pretty good site, I used to go there a whole lot before finding B3D...but as you would guess by the name...its a Playstation site. Although the community there tries to be impartial...they all got more room for playstation in their hearts if you know what I mean.
None the less...very good site, I recommend it
Yeah it's too bad and notice in the reference guide picture it says December 2005, 512MB of XDR with no reference to GDDR3 and it says HDD like it will be included but it's not specified what size it will be yet.

Wow...I like the snapshots of the Gundam video, (In the link one posted). The shadows being casted from the Mobile suits kinda gives a feeling on how massive they are.
