My 16x hasn't corrupted a file yet, and I got it about a week after they appeared.
In fact, my 16x "repaired" a file - my Tony Hawk 3 file on an MC59 was reported as corrupt, so I copied it to the 16x, deleted the original, then transferred the copy back, and it worked perfectly 8)
