Formula 1 - 2013 Season

Webber really can't get a break can he.

Bahrain next up, good circuit for Red Bull so I'd expect something more like normal service to be resumed next week. Lotus will be strong again.

None of the people who might have used DRS under yellows will be punished, apparently there was some issue with how and where the flags/lights were shown

Its worse than that apparently. Its not that the drivers used DRS under yellows (they used it in a green sector) its that because the telemetry system just doesn't work, the drivers didn't know that DRS was disabled for both zones.

I think James Allen tweeted yesterday that Webber was stuck at the track, because the Redbull left without him and the Torro Rosso refused to give him a ride or something...

One things for sure the merc is quick just eats it tyres. If they sort that out they will be challenging for wins.

Gary Anderson agrees - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/22147074

Good article. I still believe Red Bull are faster though, what we saw in China is probably as bad as it gets for them. Merc are in a good position - being fast and hard on tyres is better than being slow and easy on tyres that's for sure.

I do wonder just how much of it is down to Hamilton as well though. Makes me wonder if the McLaren is really so bad as well. How much closer would Hamilton have it in qualifying? Don't get me wrong I think Button is doing a great job but I just wonder if Hamilton would be 4/10ths faster and how much closer would that make the car?

Lotus are very strong too - they've shown in two different circuits that they have pace. Raikkonen had a shocker in Malaysia but has looked like a real contender in the other two.

As for Alonso, give him a car that has a chance of winning and that's what you'll get. I'm definitely feeling a bit more optimistic after China - had Vettel won that one we might as well have stopped watching it as a contest.

Yes i'd like to see that aswell, because His Twitter does not have any message like that.

Sorry, it was on his live twitter feed... can't find it myself anymore now that I am looking for it, sorry. It's not a big deal I guess anyway and might be pulled out of proportion. If I find it, I'll link it or post a screen or something.

Cheers.

A bit premature from Hamilton I think - while Alonso is phenomenal we'll see him struggle to win next weekend. Vettel and Raikkonen have both improved enough since last season to beat him in better cars for the type of circuit.

Alonso giving props to Kimi
"Kimi is having a fantastic start to the season and driving maybe better than anyone."

He must have went straight home after crashing out in Malaysia because Kimi was fkin awful there. :p

There are 4-5 of them all driving at a similar level I think. Alonso has probably been at his best in 2 races but still made an error in Malaysia that cost him dearly. Kimi has been good in 2 races, bad in 1. Hamilton has been driving well considering it's a new team and can't really complain about Vettel's performances either. Button has done well in a car that isn't good enough to challenge for a win.

Di Resta has surprised me as well, he's been a lot better this year.

Team screwed Alonso in Malaysia. You can't see the front-wing from the driver's seat. You just can't. You have probably heard many times over the radio drivers asking "is my car okay, how is my front wing?"
