Formula 1 - 2009 Season

Do you know who supplies the engine to the McLaren XXX?

The McLaren has a better power to weight than the 458 so it might be faster.

I do like the front of the new SLS ( not too sure of the back ) and prefer the 6.2 AMG unit sound wise to most.

3 good cars coming out soon.

Looks like Renault have been very naughty if true. The Nelson Piquet statement to the FIA is now on the web.

No, just that we didn't get the job but some UK manufacturer. Strangely Mercedes started some cooperation with a certain UK-based manufacturer shortly before that, so that might as well be it.

Oh and check out www.mercedes-amg.com, there is extensive new material and a full detailed presentation of the SLS online since yesterday.

Ferrari and Santander announced the expected sponsorship deal; instead of what the spanish media and one italian reporter wanted, they didn't see announcements of Alonso in the same event. Instead they got a wall-sized pic of Kimi ;)

Those wishing for Alonso to come on Ferrari next season, you will know this weekend for sure, Ferrari has always announced their drivers at Monza if there's driver changes.

Oh, and as a tip, Montezemolo said that Ferrari still picks their own drivers, not their sponosors

I somehow don't see Alonso going to Ferrari, unless Kimi decides to leave. But the position Renault is in with last years race, I can't really see that helping Alonso, despite what talent he may have.

Kimi ain't leaving, not yet anyway, he'll drive the 2010 season at Ferrari and then sees about the future.

I've been certain of it all the time regardless of rumors, but spanish media & 1 italian reporter want to disagree

I doubt it will get very far, unless they recorded the conversation they'll never prove Piquet made the suggestion.

Montezemolo has made some comments regarding Alonso finally - he said that he will hire Alonso at some point, but not for next season, "we have Raikkonen, Massa, Fisichella, Gene, Badoer and hopefully Michael Schumacher for next season, so we have bench as long as Real Madrid"

Millions of pounds and dollars are at stake to Renault. They wont just listen, they will get lawyers to try to screw Piquet.

Either way it is all but over for Piquet. If Piquet did lie, he will be punished for that, if he didnt he still cheated so nobody will hire him. End of career me thinks.

I doubt cheating would be much of a issue for hiring. Besides that, crashing when asked, that certainly shows a lot of loyality (or rather, a race seat for next year in Piquets case). I suppose there are some teams that dont exactly mind having somebody that will do what they say when needed

Anyway, I think Piquets career was over the moment he got fired. No matter what, he didnt show much speed and maybe even more important some degree of skill or improvement.

And then rat them out when he gets angry?

Were you present as it happened when you're so sure?
What? I am just saying what Briatore has revealed, that they have filed complaints of extortion and blackmail against the Piquet's in France.

I am not sure of anything, in fact I fear the worst.
