Seems like maybe a good way to firewall contentious subjects, or drain the poison that spreads through a lot of modern, ideologically or politically driven subjects into a septic tank and keep it separate from tech and gaming.*

The philosophical discussion is whether it is a septic tank that drains the poisons people naturally, inescapably produce, or a festering cadaver that actually breeds new diseases and infects people. Is a forum where people can act that way without restriction good for them, or like giving meth to a meth-head to stop their cravings, feels good at the time but is doing them a nasty?

B3D doesn’t need an RPSC forum. Also not having one isn’t going to cure anyone of their ills. I think Rys said it in his first post. The only question is whether people want to see that stuff here. It’s going to happen “somewhere” even if it’s not here. The western world is extremely politically polarized right now and any RPSC drama is just a reflection of that and certainly not a cause.

I've decided that I just don't want to see that kind of discussion here, never mind ask the mods to do even more work, so it's going to stay permanently closed. I'll update the first post to say that and sticky this thread.
