Final Fantasy XIII [PS3, X360]

DMC4 was built on the MT Framework. Why do we assume it was made for PS3?

Because work on the 360 version started about a month after they made the announcement of that version (since it was initially an exclusive). Capcom corporate likes to surprise teams.

In the end, the differences were very small between the two versions that neither had an edge. Then came the PC version and blew both away technically and content-wise

But it was still built on MT Framework...which means it was built using Multiplatform tools...which means it was made just like any other Capcom PS3 game before or after that...

Right and that's why it was ported quickly to the 360 without any hitches. Doesn't change the fact that during most of the development cycle, the team was working on the PS3 alone.

Maybe I'm misreading, but I think AlStrong's 'anyways...' was a 'let's get back on-topic and stop talking about DMC4'.

The design of the box art seems to be a compromise between what people in NA are used to and what people in Europe are used to. It being a simultaneous release and all it makes since for them to find a cover suitable for both markets.

Just something I wanted to put out there. Does anybody think that Feelplus may have been called in to do some work on this game or at least on the 360 version? Before someone says that is ridiculous, it is a fact that Feelplus help out in the creation of Star Ocean:The Last Hope and Infinite Undiscovery.

This site: http://dilly-shilly.blogspot.com/ , has a translation of the whole FFXIII prologue novel that is on squares japanese site. I found it quite a good read and lets you get to know the characters and there motivations. After reading Sazh's chapter i have newfound respect for him and seems like he will play a bigger part in the story than just comic relief. And the chocobo in his hair is there for good reason ;)

Oh, that screen shows some excellant skin tone/detail on the legs...

And what's with the obligatory extremely pokey nipples poking out what looks to be a fairly thick coat+sweater? :p

Regards,
SB
That isn't a nipple. Look closely at the buckles or whatever that is holding her jacket closed. That is a crease or wrinkle or whatever you want to call it but that is not a nipple you sick puppy you. I wouldn't mind seeing some more digital skin though.

Black arrow is not a nipple but a wrinkle. Red arrow should be around where the nipple is but unforunately they are covered by a thick belt. Laa-Yosh has a better eye for this than I do so maybe he might be able to correct this.

You can't say that for sure. It could be there because the clothes are being caught on her nipple. Maybe she's somewhere really cold. Certainly you'd feel the chill with what she's wearing! A true gentleman would lend her their jacket.

Famistu gives the game a score of 39/40

10: "Although the game is linear until the midway point, the story is substantial, like no FF before it, with its own distinctive appeal. The battles based around changing characters' roles is radical, and highly strategic. The tempo is speedy and you get very excited when fighting strong enemies. Being able to restart battles is a user-friendly feature I'm happy about.

9: "Unquestionably the highest echelon of event and movie scenes. Moreover, changing Optimas on a dime, the varied abilities and being able to use multiple magics at once bring real exhilaration to the battles. That high quality is unfortunately offset by a story that stays linear until the midway point. The lack of gimmicks during the middle of the game also worried me."

10: "The overwhelming graphics expressing every nook and cranny of this unique world, along with the praiseworthy direction, moved me!! The battle system is applicable both to beginners and micro-managers. They progress quickly, and have ratings, so you never grow tired and can always fight with a feeling of urgency. The melancholic story is also so dramatic, you can't tear your eyes away from it."

10: "I doff my hat to the overwhelming graphics and story. Since the game's various systems become denser as the story progresses, you find yourself pulled ever deeper into the experience. The summon battles take careful planning and strategy, so I was frustrated a few times, but the feeling of achievement when you win is something special. You'll be sorry if you don't play this!"
The mag also contains an interview with the team.

The PS3 version will use a Dual Layer Blu-ray and the 360 would have compressed audio and video(We already assumed the latter.).
