DriveClub by Evolution Studios [PS4]

i don't like to buy digital copies but 39€ instead of 69 is a big difference, so i preordered it, now watching the countdown...

This game looks so stunning it's unhealthy, I don't think I can even race properly for the first few tries from the constant distraction of them scenery. Can't wait for their launch trailer!

Are these shots downsampled by any chance? Coz if not, son I will..

that's from a high quality version of the spanish video supposed to be taken from gameplay footage as tweeted by Rushy, but that's all supposition now.
even if he said gameplay, there are clearly camera angles that are not gameplay, maybe replay or anything else.

 No aliasing at the wires. :runaway:

Even though DC is godly with IQ.... these are probably bullshots, or screens from "replay".
I feel there is a good chance I will eat crow for this.

Well they did say they have a total of 4 different AA systems going on during the game. It was in an interview. They really want to clean the IQ up so I can see how the shots would be hard to believe.

Jesus, the aliasing really is gone on the wires ! A new benchmark for AA confirmed?

Instead of upgrading the AA they could simply have changed the art for the wires to reduce the contrast against the background.

It's using temporal AA so you could say each image is supersampled-ish, like Infamous looked supersampled too.

They use some combination of AAs in this game and from the clean look of the wires I wouldn't be surprised if they use some specific AA solution just for the wires, like what Ubisoft used in Watch_dogs.

I don't know how they are handling the wire AA but maybe they are using a similar solution I read about a few years back where you would adjust the wire to prevent it from getting smaller than a pixel wide. If it was smaller than a pixel you would clamp it then do a blending technique or something....

Found it.
