Back in June I released some dreams to test my element MTB 1.0, it generated likes and was played by some 300 people which is surprising because it was quite crude. I even released the element alone as remixable to see if someone expands it somehow but nothing happend, one guy did something like downhill track for it but that was that.
I have MTB 2.0 almost ready and although 3D model is the same, everything else is rewritten, expanded and with completely custom camera control.
Now I want to do world for it, but I'm hitting hardware limits (PS4Pro). Sea (2.5x2.5km) with clouds is already taxing so when I add more things I'm looking at drops to 40 fps. Even when I disable all procedural fleck animations and the sea turns into flat surface it's not perfect 60 fps. I'll do more testing to get better performance but maybe I need the PS5.
some optimization and graphics cost went down considerably, the sea is now made from over 100 tiles which animate only when something is on them, also less clouds helped. 0% graphics cost is an exception, I saw numbers as high as 8%.
content creation for MTB Open World will take more time, so I found this nice city on the Dreamiverse so people can try new bike logic and camera control.
