I would be weary of any images coming from gaf they are altering the images in Photoshop
and are blurring one version and sharpening the other they are also changing the color depth of one version to a lower bit depth.
Does it actually look better? Or is it better because certain technical boxes were checked that support a theory of superiority? The only real difference I noted was in edge aliasing that I wouldn't have noticed without the on-screen magnifying glass...
It's a minor resolution difference. The only thing I see, is how a herd mentality turns a forum known for meaningful discourse into an echo chamber of nonsense.
Looks damn good to me.
Yes, would be interesting to ask what caused them to consider a delay. ^_^
These are 30fps captures though.
Does anyone know how these capture devices handle the 60fps input at 30fps? Does it skip a frame or try to blur 2 together?
...
I remember we had a discussion before where we were saying 50% more flops doesn't translate into 50% more performance. I guess BF4 completely slapped that argument in the face...
Higher native res (1080p) could also be a big factor for Killzone. But yeah whatever that post AA in PS4's BF4 is not very convincing, hope it also comes with a switch on/off option as in PS3's version.Killzone's AA looks nice and clean...i wonder if Guerilla is using that TMAA solution Sony was working on...could DICE use that?
I asked repi about the PS4 blur and X1 post sharpening on twitter: No reply ! He is a EA bot now
COD Ghosts difference is even bigger 720p vs 1080p and who knows what graphics setting they're at. But like you said it is too early to tell, would wait for a true next gen multiplat like The Witcher 3 for a better comparison. If it becomes a trend over the next 2 years or so, then I'll agree. But one game developed for 5 platforms, with unfinished next-gen tools and probably less time for specific optimizations (of which I'd guess X1 would've benefit the most from) I'd say its a bit too early for damning conclusions.
At least DICE prioritized framerate over resolution in a shooter. Good call IMhO.
